Title: Favorite TM "word verification"
Post by: Bags on September 17, 2004, 02:17:00 pm: You know, that kinda distorted 'word' in the box you have to type in to protect against some kind of internet scalper scheme on TicketMaster and other ticket sites.... Now that they no longer always use real words, it can be a hoot.

This morning I got:

unboy

That could be a GREAT word....applicable to so much. :p

Post by: hitman on September 19, 2004, 09:05:00 pm: I don't even see the whole point of the word verification thing. Does it actually help at all? I thought the original point of this system was to deter scalpers or whatever. What is the actual function, besides to make the process longer?
