swarms of them. everywhere in my yard. they even seem to be trying to get inside like out of some horror movie.
-
same thing happened to a few people last year - Post had an article - except they definitely got inside the homes. (I've seen a few at work.)
I think they are good luck. ;)
-
sounds like you might be having a flashback... take a valium and think warm happy thoughts, it'll all pass...
-
holiday = too many posts from me.

stinkbugs are our particular plague around these parts

is that a metaphor?
-
anyone else notice lots or robins showing up this year? not just around my home in dc but also around my office in md. my coworker says he's had lots of them around his place too
-
must be the animal version of "the happening."
-
Some cat left a shredded bird on my doorstep... little left but a big pile of feathers
-
i feed squirrels peanuts in my yard. the other day they left some empty black walnut shells on my front door step, i guess as a thank you gift. animals are smart and funny.
-
Especially when you're blowing smoke in their tiny faces ;)

They are everywhere this year, huge numbers of em. Man are they noisy when they are flying around. I thought that there was a cell phone vibrating somewhere and it was a big bomber of a stinkbug lumbering through the air in the living room.
-
what's a stinkbug?
-
They are not actual ladybugs. Alot of them are really asian lady beetles (I realize this fact will incite many varied responses)

this italian guy told me the other day that he was moving out of brooklyn, because all these asian people were moving in and taking over all the neighborhoods and he did not like it. i told him now you know what people felt like when all the italians moved into new york and took over everything. he did not like that.

This is a stinkbug:

Also known as shield bugs. They are known as stink bugs because they have glands that secrete nastyass aldehydes. You don't really want to smash one and then leave it lying around.
-
Oh yes, those pesky looking things. I never noticed them in this area before until last year. Thanks for the tip! Last weekend one got in my vacuum - luckily he didn't get squished! So are they good critters otherwise?
-
Pretty harmless vegetarians. They like certain types of leaves but I forget exactly which ones. When I see one around my apartment, I always call it Kevin, for Shields. One day both Kevin and Belinda were droning around.

Ok the shoegaze obsession has officially gotten out of hand.
Intervention time. :)
Oh and on an unrelated note, APTBS wednesday?

Absolutely! Can't wait.
Also, very much looking forward to seeing Ceremony again. They are just as good.
(I'm just hoping my car holds out.)
-
Awesome!
Never seen Ceremony.
Sian Alice Group should be good too.
I was thinking about seeing Octopus Project at the Black Cat and then running over to the club for APTBS' set but it's sounding more and more like I shouldn't miss any of this bill.
-
Definitely be there for Ceremony! Joining them for a few songs will be Jake Reid from Alcian Blue & Screen Vinyl Image. He always adds some great bliss to their wall of sound.
Can't say I'm a fan of what I've heard of Sian Alice Group but have heard mostly good reports of their shows opening for APTBS. Will be good to find out for myself.
-
Will do.
I may just camp out at the club all evening; never seen Minus the Bear either and they're playing the early show and I have nothing better to do that night.
