"McCain has been rabble-rousing, calling Obama a terrorist and a Muslim."
O RLY?
-
Statements likes, on both ends, make me sad. You care enough about a politician to put up an protest effigy for Halloween and declare yourself a "big supporter," but you don't care enough to actually look up any facts? Boo.

this only proves that zealots and misguided souls can exist in both parties

I'm sure you can appreciate, however, that looking up details is not in the best interest of Obama supporters in this instance. Racism is offensive, so if they can continue to reframe the election from "who would be the better President" to "all McCain supporters are racist bigots," it helps them with undecided voters. No one wants to be racist bigots, so as long as the HopeChange Youth Army can continue to act like there's this racist oligarchy out there in the McCain camp, it helps them, even though you and I, as reasonable people know that John McCain isn't racist.

what are we going to talk about after the elections? i think rachael ray has a new dog food.

I have 13 Julian's America articles already written and ready to go as soon as this board starts to go through politics withdrawal and needs a quick fix of the sweet, sweet lifestyle reviews I offer.

i was wondering what happened, mr. leach.

Agreed, but I'm sure you can appreciate the reverse, where bringing to light that Obama is not Arab and is not a Muslim is not in the best interest of McCain supports.

can you just write one in depth "i hate obama, blah blah blah" rant and paste it in every thread? it should save everyone time, especially yourself. :)
reasonable people, heh.

I can agree to that, as long as you'd also agree that McCain has went out of his way recently to make clear that he doesn't think Obama is either Arabic or Muslim.
-
Thanks for starting this one Walkonby. Had you not, I would've completely missed reading the Beastie Boy fiasco, garnering valuable insight.
Somebody must've got up on the wrong side of the bed today. Glad it wasn't me.
Kudos to Kosmo for always trying to keep this rollercoaster on track.

I agree, and it's incredibly noble of him. But then again:
"The Obama campaign said that Obama "does not believe that John McCain or any policy criticism is in any way comparable to George Wallace or his segregationist policies" but said Lewis was "right to condemn some of the hateful rhetoric....Some McCain supporters have yelled "treason," "kill him" and "terrorist" at recent campaign events."
All I'm saying is that idiots lie on both sides of the debate, and it's not really fair to either candidate, or the country at large, to have any of this factor in.

Well, I can concur with that gesture. Would it also be fair to surmise that you'd also agree that you're a complete son of a bitch bastard?

And obviously I'm just kidding before anyone's panties get in a bunch.

I'm curious as to what the McCain supporters think of this article:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/14/mccain-transition-chief-a_n_134595.html (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/14/mccain-transition-chief-a_n_134595.html)
Headline: McCain Transition Chief Aided Saddam In Lobbying Effort
William Timmons, the Washington lobbyist who John McCain has named to head his presidential transition team, aided an influence effort on behalf of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to ease international sanctions against his regime.
The two lobbyists who Timmons worked closely with over a five year period on the lobbying campaign later either pleaded guilty to or were convicted of federal criminal charges that they had acted as unregistered agents of Saddam Hussein's government.
During the same period beginning in 1992, Timmons worked closely with the two lobbyists, Samir Vincent and Tongsun Park, on a previously unreported prospective deal with the Iraqis in which they hoped to be awarded a contract to purchase and resell Iraqi oil. Timmons, Vincent, and Park stood to share at least $45 million if the business deal went through.
____________
Full article is long, and has direct quotes from the trials of the men involved. I know it is the Huffington Post. But it seems pretty well researched and sourced.

why do we have movie reviews? and why do people read them, to (i guess) base whether they will see the film. the wash. post thinks W. is a waste of film that should of never been made, while roger ebert basically jerked off all over it with the most glowing four star review i read of his.

why do you always have to create such vile images with your posts?

would you rather me be like dupek . . .

Chicago Tribune endorses Obama and while yes it's his hometown paper it's the first time that paper has ever endorsed a Democrat Presidential Candidate. That's first time ever in 161 years...

i wonder how much attention this will get in the media. guess it will depend on how much the dems make an issue out of it. sounds partially & eerily like ACORN: people paid by the registration, so registrars aim for quantity not quality.
basic tenet of management: you get what you pay for (or, more precisely, you get what you pay people for). if you pay for numbers, you'll get numbers.

There is a kind of "conservative feminism" here, and several men cite the appeal of Ms. Palin as a can-do caretaker. ??I love the idea of someone like her being allowed into the White House?
