so many to choose from. gosh where do i start.
in a vampire mood. just watched salem's lot, into fright night into lost boys.
now i want brains. i think i'll start with redneck zombies.
-
not really halloweeny, but gosh darn, i liked m. night's "the happening."
tonight it's "venom." snakes scare me.
-
there's the obvious suggestion: the Halloween franchise (http://www.halloweenmovies.com/)
-
too typical. i saw halloween 1 for the first time when i was six, before i went out trick or treating. needless to see . . . there's nothing wrong with me now.

Whatever you do, you should not watch this 17-second werksafe YouTube (http://failblog.org/2008/10/13/animal-recording-fail/). Do not watch it. No! Stop what you are doing. Do not click!
-
damn you. i watched.
after that and venom (which klaus kinski rocked) i will have snake nightmares.

KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park!

Shouldn't the zombie movies be saved for Easter?
I always thought that was a more apt holiday for them.
-
Nightmare Before Christmas.
Some might consider this a Christmas film, but I always watch it at Halloween.
And, while not a movie, The Great Pumpkin is always required viewing.
-
Shaun of the Dead
-
Obviously Romero's original three zombie movies would be great, especially Dawn of the Dead. It's the reason why I consider zombies my number two fear (just behind giant squids, but they only win since we have proof of their existence).

anything by dario argento
-
28 days later .. i've still yet to see the sequel though.
-
I think the 2004 version of Dawn of the Dead is genuinely scary. No snarking unless you've seen it.
-
Actually, considering I'd put the original in my top 10 movies of all time, I thought the remake was pretty good. Granted, you have to come to it as a new story, but overall I dug it.

has anybody ever seen this movie, which is from the seventies i think. might be a tv movie, but it was about a family trapped in their house surrounded by lions. can't remember the title and it really bugs me.

Hocus Pocus
Donnie Darko
Nightmare Before Christmas
Those are the 3 I need to watch every October.
Hocus Pocus is an old family tradtition since it was released on VHS. I effing love that movie. Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker as the attractive one? That's hilarious.
-
Devil's Backbone
The Changeling
The Orphanage
3 solid ghost story movies, if that's what you're into.
-
I'm always a fan of a classic Wes Craven trifecta...
-Last House On The Left
-The Hills Have Eyes
-A Nightmare on Elm Street

how to tell if a horror flick is a true classic? count how many of the 20 Horror Movie Clichés I Can Do Without (http://horror.about.com/od/horrorthemelists/ig/Horror-Movie-Cliches/) it contains.
my favorite:
<img src="http://z.about.com/d/horror/1/0/0/_/-/-/Vampire2.jpg" alt=" - " />
Black-clad, brooding vampires with no sense of humor: Cheer up; you're darn near immortal, you've got super strength, you can seduce people at will and depending on whom you ask, you can fly and turn into animals! What's not to love? Seriously, you're bringing me down.

i don't like stick figures.
