has anyone heard it yet?? or knows where to get it??
-
You'll be able to get it in the cutout bargain bins, if you wait a year or so.

Only if there is any room left amongst all those copies of The Instigator. Why do they all have holes in the UPC barcode?

Next to your panties??
-
So those who bought it can have a place to put their dicks when they masturbate.

I have never seen The Instigator or Turn on the Bright Lights in the Dollar Bin.....
Apparently the Libertines new album has been leaked too. I would like to hear that. I know their album has been spotted in the dollar bin.

Based on the highly unscientific Amazon.com results - There are 24 copies of the Interpol CD (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-listing/B00006BTCA//102-7687085-4160964?condition=all) for sale and 52 copies of The Constipator (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-listing/B00006AGCO//102-7687085-4160964?condition=all)
-
I have picked up the Libertines first album as well as the Instigator in the dollar bin.
I don't think being in the dollar bin automatically means the record sucks. Just means that it didn't sell up to record company expectations, so they had to dump off a load of them.

I couldn't have put it better myself.

I think there are plenty of acts just obscure enough for the epsilons in second hand stores not to recognise them. I think that would fit for any of the albums you are discussing.
It does not explain the copies of the J-lo remix album....
-
So are you saying you don't understand the concept of a cutout album?
Just means that the record company overestimated the sales figure of an album, and created way more copies than were bought. Thus, the need to sell them as cutouts.
My guess is that this will happen with Interpol. They'll get a big push, and fewer people then expected will buy the album. Same thing must have happened to the J-Lo you refer to.

I understand the concept of a cutout album.
I know most of the second hand copies of the instigator are cutouts.
I bet the libertines is not a cut out
I bet there are no interpol cutouts.
I have not seen cut-outs of the new strokes album either, so maybe interpol will not suffer the ignomy that Rhett Miller has.
-
I would have to check my Libertines and Rhett Miller cd's to see if they are cutouts.
Cutouts are usually major label releases. Rhett Miller's album waas on a major label (Elektra). The Libertines (Rough Trade) and Interpol (Matador) aren't on major labels. So your guesses could very well be right.
-
Rhett, you are such an ass.
are you the only one who hasnt noticed that yet?

Oh stop, at least wait until he has done something really nasty. Here's merely explaining a process, albeit it a tad rudely. That's hardly worth calling him an ass.
-
If i read back, redsock, i see that the process he was explaining was about masturbation and compact discs. i think that deems it worthy.
besides, since when do you answer for Rhett?
-
But what guy wouldn't want to masturbate to the sassy pic of Rhett Miller on the cover of his solo album? I'll bet you'd be so excited you'd shoot a load all the way into your goatee.

I don't answer for him, which makes it all the more poignant. I've called him an ass and worse plenty, but I think he's worked hard to clean up some of his old ways. That's not to say Bags likes him, and i could argue there's a valid reason for that, but perhaps we should at least not completely go off on him. After all, we let Mankie and many of his rude comments go in good fun. And we used to let it go with markie, when he posted all the time and acted like a twat. Perhaps today is a enw day.... or perhaps not.
-
I'll be sure to make a homemade t-shirt for Redsock. Sonic doesn't get one.
Maybe it could be a copy of the one I saw some dirty vagrant honky wearing outside the Denver bus station. It read "I love blow jobs." Classic.
-
anyway...i have the leak. its pretty solid.

I think we are talking about the same thing...I always thought cds w/ cut-outs were promo cds provided to reps/radio/stores, etc. (i.e., promotional cds, not labeled as promo).

doesn't count - he's been outta town! :D (i think. not trying to instigate you rhett. oops, no pun intended.)

dude, redsock, I love ya, but why bring me in to a "Rhett's an ass, no he isn't" discussion I'm actually completely out of!?! :D

I've got Antics.
(Note my post from the other day in the Spanish version of the 'What Are You Listening To?' thread.)
There are a few minor glitches and it's only in mono but has already sold me on the new one once it's official.
Personally, I think it's much better than TOTBLs. More accesible too so some may like it a bit more. So far, I think my favorite cut is Public Pervert. Some of my friends prefer Take You On A Cruise. Length Of Love has been around for a long time. For the most part, they are all good.
I haven't bothered with The Libertines one but know the link.
-
can u post the link for the antics please!?
-
I've managed to get a hold of an excellant copy of Antics. So far it is some great stuff. Still absorbing all the tracks.
-
I'm sure soulseek.com has it already.

New Interpol Single -- Slowhands (http://www.earthquake-electronics.com/songs/05slowhands.mp3)

i love it.

Thanks for posting this. Hope this song isn't indicative of the new album overall. It sounds a bit watered-down for Interpol. Also, I couldn't help but think how similar it sounds to Franz Ferdinand...
-
I've got a pretty good copy of antics...192kbps. I've listened to it a few times and I like it. Not as dissonant at TOTBL but still good. I think I'll wind up liking this one as much as the first one.
-
i have a great copy of the album. it sounds like shit. it bores me, and i loved the other shit. maybe i need to keep listening
-
Anyone got a tip for how to hear this? the entire record.
I'd like to be familiar prior to Curiosa
-
This is so uncanny.
I am listening to "Antics" right now - a song called "Length Of Love."
Forget the comparisons to Joy Division. This sounds *so* much like R.E.M. - especially the voice.
Cheers
