Title: Cornelius Friday 23
Post by: evilizac on January 23, 2008, 11:26:00 pm
Any insight into ticket sales for the show this Friday? Cornelius and the Benevento Russo Duo. My friend just told me about this and it seems interesting. I have no real position on either of these acts but I figured for $15 it's probably a good time if I can get tickets at the door.

 ?

Just buy a ticket online and go. It'll be well worth it and more.

Another mystery sol-ved, thanks.  My favorite of the new tracks that still isn't out in the US in any way is a Japanese-only b-side called 'Clap And Whistle Walking'. It's just a clever layering of clapping, whistle, walking, flute and bird tweet sounds.  The full name should probably be 'Clap And Whistle And Flute And Bird Walking'

B-R Duo sound hot... just checked them on myspace

Also I notice Cornelius' drummer Yuko is keeping a  tour diary  (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=1000251621)again, although looks like she hasn't updated it since she got to the US...hope she isn't sick...

I enjoyed the show for the most part.  I think they were better when they played on the Point tour a couple years back.  I like their older music better (redundant?)  I like the more rock songs better than the newer stuff.  They played everything I wanted to hear so I can't complain.  Did the show sell out?  The opener was really awesome too.

this was my first time seeing Cornelius.  I had my doubts at the beginning but then I got into it.  Fun  show!

The only thing I was hoping to hear that they didn't play was that song he did with the apples in stereo.
A song or two off Holidays in the Sun or the First Question Award would've been nice too.

Other than that, I loved it.
