Just checked out the new VH1 Classic 2 hour video show that premiered tonight. It was hosted by Al Jourgenson from Ministry. I don't know if there will be a guest host every episode or not, I doubt it. Check your local times. It also starts airing during the week. Some videos that I can recall, I TIVOED it for later editing, were as follows: Rev. Horton Heat,Gary Numan,KMFDM,Front 242,Wolfgang Press,Helmet,Echo & The Bunnymen,
Ministry,Jesus & Mary Chain and Spacemen 3 to name a few......not bad for commercial T.V....

Damn, what time are those supposed to come on? That woulda been a great one to see. Hopefully they'll rerun it.
-
They actually played a Spacemen 3 video on VH1. That is great. Which video was it? Now, hopefully the book: Dreamweapon by Erik Morse will actually come out in August.

>>> I haven't reviewed and edited the show yet....I'll watch and let you know.....I do know one thing....it was VERY psychedelic!

Damn! Times like this, I wish that I had cable tv.

I imagine it was most likely Hypnotized from Recurring which is a great psychedelic video. It used to be online somewhere. Here is a link to a short BBC2 interview with Sonic and Jason after they split discussing the recording of Recurring: http://www.spacemen3.co.uk/video/rapido.ram (http://www.spacemen3.co.uk/video/rapido.ram)

this is what i remember 120 minutes being like. good stuff. i think it comes on 3 nights a week now, but is it different each time?
-
That Spacemen 3 video was for "Big City" from the "Recurring" c.d. The times for this show are Sunday,Wednesday and Thursday from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. on VH1 Classic, of course. Other vids on the first show were from Bauhaus,Visage,P.J. Harvey,The Farm,Butthole Surfers and The Mission U.K.

I LOVE that song! Wow!
From the other bands listed, it seems like I am going to have to start taping this show. :)
Cheers

Well that narrows it down to about 30 songs.

>>> The one off of "Psalm" with William S. Burroughs.......

I still think "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up" is some of the best live music I have. I remember in 1992, Ministry were so damn badass. My English teacher told me he saw them open for Roxy Music in 1982 I think in Chicago. ten years later, Ministry headlined there with Helmet. Talk about a change in musical direction.
-
I wonder if Guiny realizes that Al Jorgenson is a big country music fan?

Looks like my TIVO picked up tonight's program at 11:00 a.m. VH1 tends to do that......run the evenings "premiere" during the day....so,it will still be on at 11:00 p.m. also....it was all new from Sunday night and only 1 hour instead of 2....here are some artists as I zoomed thru the new one....Love & Rockets,The Smiths,Modern English,Bjork,Afghan Wigs,Camper Van Beethoven,Translator,Ultra Vivid Scene,Hunters & Collectors and KRAFTWERK! Damn.....

Agreed. Stigmata, Thieves, and So What are, for lack of a better word, brutal.

Don't forget Burning Inside and Breathe.
Their new cd is pretty darn good also. Obviously not as heavy as the old days but it does have its moments. Definetely beats their last one.
-
That would be impossible.
