For once, a publication agrees with me.

 That's strange.

Everything All the Time was probably the album that I listened to the most in 2006. I think it is a very strong album start to finish.  However, I haven't listed to it in months.

Overall, I think it deserves the accolades that have been heaped upon it. I think it throws a pretty big net...people with all sorts of preferences enjoy the album.

I was at the Plug Awards Saturday night.  Overall, I thought it was a fun night with excellent performances by Tokyo Police Club, Silversun Pickups and Deerhoof (Stephen Malkmus was good, but I thought nothing special.  El-P was also good, but seemed pissed the crowd was disinterested and walked off the stage after two songs).  David Cross was funny and made the most of what was mostly a clusterfuck of an event.  It seemed very disorganized, and in general the crowd didn't seem to care about anything that was going on.

Punk Album of the Year: CSS, Cansei De Ser Sexy

Punk? Is that what kids are calling dance pop nowadays? Does that make Scissors Sisters hardcore?

I'm not impressed by any of the artists who won.

Something tells me the feeling is mutual.

I thought Silversun Pickups stole the show.  It took me a few listens to really like their album, but it has since become one of my most listened to albums released last year.  I was excited to see them, but didn't think they were going to sound as powerful and energetic as they did.  I was thinking the same thing as they were playing... frustrated their only upcoming show is with Snow Patrol

I believe this was the setlist, but my memory is a little fuzzy:
 Well Thought Out Twinkles
 Melatonin
 Little Loverâ??s So Polite
 Lazy Eye
 Rusted Wheel
 Future Foe Scenarios

I know Lazy Eye was 4th.  Deerhoof and Tokyo Police Club played 4 songs, El-P did 2 and walked off.  David Cross rushed on stage and said "wait a minute that wasn't 4 songs."  So when Silversun Pickups played Lazy Eye 4th, I figured that's what they were closing with.  They may have intended to, but they played 2 more songs after that, I assume they got to play longer since El-P's set was cut short.
