Say hi to my brother in law (tall guy, slicked back hair, looks like elvis) and my sister (her hair color changes daily so it's tough to describe her) as they will be there with about 15 of our friends.
This will be the first hootenany I've missed. Last years was a party with the reverand horton heat.
Not sure if you're a Social D fan, but Ness usually plays both his solo cowboy punk and straight out punk at shows like this. It's incredible.

1) Because the East Coast just isn't cool enough.
2) Yes, that is the kingbees and my brother in law said the same thing "Fucking hell, the kingbees are still alive?"

It is indeed, those very same Kingbees. I am with about the east coast, seems like we get left out of a lot of this type of thing. Frankly, the first night admission is worth it for the Stray Cats Reunion alone:)

Check out Junior Brown, he's great live.
And if you see the Original Sinners, you get Exene and 1/4 of the Old 97's.

Metal Meltdown, you fully have me bummed out now. I was ignoring this for a long time. I can't believe I'm gonna miss a Hootenany. Have a good time time man. CSUF fields is about a mile from where I grew up.
Please bring back lots of pictures
Also, last years Hootenany was the last time I saw Strummer. A major bummer that he's no longer with us.

Thanks Van! i will be sure to bring back photos for you guys. Yeah in fact, I think Hootenanny 2002 was Joe's last appearance period...sad that I never got to see him despite a couple chances to do so..its makes me go see people now because you just never know.

Kosmo... you ain't that old. I have a Kingbees record, as well. Bought it at Joe's Record Paradise eons ago. The vinyl seems to have a few slices in in it... Shades of a former life.
