What does it mean that all seats are reserved?
I've never been to this venue. Is it kind of Birchmere-esque, in that we should get there kind of early to get a good table and go ahead and have dinner there?
-
It means you buy a specific seat at a specific table, and that seat is reserved for you. Obviously, the earlier you buy tickets, the better choice of seats you get.
-
Rams Head Tavern is an "interesting" venue. I'd say best suited to low key acoustic type acts. When you get a ticket you are assigned a table (a restaurant type table). No standing allowed. You can see the seating chart on their web site. You can pick your seat when ordering.
-
Be real careful when you secure your seats or you could be over on the side of the stage like I was once and had a side and rear view of the band! Not really that cool. I'm not fond of the way they position those side tables.
-
Oh man, that is so cool! They have a map of the venue and all the tables, and as you float your cursor over a table it tells you how many seats at that table are available. They even show you where columns are placed. The front four tables were sold out, but I'm the second row back --just bought a whole table. Had to do it, had to buy when the options were still sweet.
Man oh man.
See if this link (http://ticketing.ramsheadtavern.com/ordertickets.asp?p=1036&backurl=default.asp) works.

I didn't see your warning before I purchased, Jonas, but I decided to stay away from the side tables for just that reason -- sometime the side seats are really crappy for sightlines and sound.

Smart move. You need to get tickets fast for the good seats.

Judybats. Cool. Nice guys, band has dropped to being pretty much a collection of friends who go out and play when they want to. Saw them a bit back and have their CD with the 58 Lincoln on the cover.
-
VH-1 has five Judybats videos online. Pretty cool, I must say. The jackets and the hair in "She Lives" are hysterical...like I'm one to talk. ;)

Might as well make this the Judybats thread.
Saw them in Chicago last weekend, and it was just fantastic. Apparently it was only their second gig in three years, but it sounded great. Lots of folks were wondering who they were, as it was a surprise to many to see such a good band they'd never heard of at a street festival.
Chicago Set List (not in order, sketchy at best!)
Sheâ??s Sad She Said
Convalescing in Spain
Being Simple
Geography
Native Son
Donâ??t Drop the Baby
Incredible Bittersweet
La Dulcinea
Pain (Makes You Beautiful)
Ugly on the Outside
Shine (only song I can name from Judybats â??00)
I know they did at least 4 or 5 others that were new to me (likely from â??00).
And I know Iâ??m missing some from the first four albums, but I listened to all the albums on my iPod so much, itâ??s all jumbled up. ;)

Cool, did you say hi to them. Really nice guys.

Nope, the festival was pretty big and I had to hightail it to dinner as soon as their set was over. I have emailed them, though, and got very nice responses. I will definitely say hi at the Annapolis show.

I'll be there, table #107 in the second row in front of the stage.

Isn't that a Donny and Marie Osmond song? You're scaring me Brennser...

I'm holding out for an Iota show so I can walk there. Plus Danielle Howle is at Iota that night (although with Last Train Home on a Friday which means crowded and annoying).

I'll be there Bags, table 300.
-
Still lots of seats, but I count 160 seats sold. I'm looking forward to this....
-
Looks like we're going to have two empty (but paid for) seats at our table...just a heads up.
-
Holy crap, I sign into the forum for the first time since 1999 (not a joke) and find I missed a Judybats show by one night?!?!
-
Thought the Judybats were fantastic. Any other reactions???
-
I absolutely loved the show. They are great, and I was so in to it....it's one of the rare times I wish a show just went on and on for hours.
I'm going to see what I can do to encourage them to do a full-blown tour with a DC date.
-
When I talked to them, they said they don't do full on tours as they have day jobs. They do short runs mostly because they still like making music.

Yup, I figure they're in the weekend touring business (like the Wrens), but they can do that more. They have only done four shows in three years so far...

Please push this. Would love to see them. I would have snatched those seats, Bags, work prevailed.
-
I emailed them and they said they're going to try for an Iota show some time soon...said it was booked this time around and they couldn't play there.
-
Danka!
-
I just emailed and offer to promote the hell out of a local show, so fingers crossed. Sorry work got in the way, 'Tastic.
-
I'll help you. :) Iota would be cool.
-
I'd be rounding up friends and passersby to drag them to a Judybats show at the Iota. Thanks for the info.
