I will be there with a couple of friends of mine. Caught the last Cartel show at the BlackCat backstage...Enjoy the layered sound so much, I tell you, you guys should work with Eno!...Will try to finally introduce myself.
Never seen WSC but look forward to it all- have heard they are the big band in this city...

I'm trying to make it after dinner plans.

I hope to be there, and say hello!

I made it, but unfortunately missed Cartel (sorry Fico). I thought that Monopoli sounded pretty good. DCs music scene really has some great talent. I'm happy to see bands that have obviously put time into songwriting and lyrics and everything and that put on a professional show. I really like WSC, but thought that the show was not their best. It started out good, but for whatever reason, didn't keep up the intensity of previous gigs I've seen them do. Part of it might have been the crowd. It was packed, but there was little energy that I could see. Saying all that though, I really liked the new song they did at the end for the encore. I think it was called LP or Long Player or something like that. A really great song. If the new album moves in that direction I will be very happy. I'm definitely going to go see them again, they usually put on amazing shows. Also, it might just be me that didn't think this show was that great. I'd like to hear other people's opinions. And I'll definitely try to make it to see Cartel in the future.

It was a fantastic night..according to the BC staff 717people paid...so it was as packed as I've seen the Black Cat get...when we went on stage with what must've been at least 500 people I think..by the end of the set it was pretty close to the night's full capacity I must say...we did fantastic in merch sales so we couldn't be happier...and there was something in the air that night..us, WSC and Monopoli were incredibly happy by the night's turn-out and we all geniunely like each other as people and musicians..so it felt like a scene..reminds me of those bills in NYC back in the day when Interpol/Walkmen/Sea Ray/French Kicks, etc...would all share a night's bill as up-and-coming bands..and now they are all touring bands doing well..hope that is the course we'll face...oh, and from now on to avoid confusions we'll be known as "cartel.dc"

conorh98 pretty much sums it up. It was fun, but I've seen plenty of better WSC shows. Huge crowd. They came in early too. It was already over half-full when Cartel hit the stage. Cartel was great, as usual. Still undecided on Monopoli. I'll definitely see them again though. Great way to spend a Friday night.

Cartel was great. Can't wait to see them at Sonar the end of the month!
-
Also, We'll be finishing our new demo this upcoming Friday in NYC...we are still unsure what we'll do with it as the initial intention was to have something to follow-up with labels, etc...but since half our set consists of these new songs we'll find ways of giving people a listen...oh and CMJ is around the corner, so yay!

Was a great show- huge crowd. Very nice to see this.
Kudos to Fico and Cartel. Big time sound on a big stage. Only a matter of time before you lads are at the 9:30 and beyond.
Again, Kudos.
