Title: Luna following in the footsteps of GBV
Post by: Venerable Bede on September 24, 2004, 05:09:00 pm
From the luna web page:

9/23/04- On October 26, we will release our seventh studio album, Rendezvous, on Jetset Records. This will be Lunaâ??s final record. We will tour the United States and Europe over the next six months, playing our last shows in 2005.

Tour dates will be posted when they are confirmed, at this point it looks like weâ??ll be on the road in the U.S. from November 1-24, with more dates in the States and Europe in January and February, 2005.

It also looks like we will be performing in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo in mid-October, we hope to post those dates in the next couple of days.

Agreed, Luna ran out of ideas a few years ago. However, Guided by Voices never had any idea (just kidding, a long time since I last posted something stupid about GBV). Now we just need the final album and Tour of G.W and this will be a great year!

Apparently, Aznar, the former president of Spain who did his farewell tour until March trying to keep his party in the government (yep, he was the one who lied about the terrorist attack in March in Madrid by blaming ETA just to avoid losing the election) is trying to do a comeback tour. This week he gave one of the worst speeches in Spain's history in Georgetown University. This should serve as an advice to GBV and GW, be careful with comeback tours. I guess the Pixies are the only ones who have succeeded in this type of reunions.

Grover Cleveland would beg to differ.

heh... I always liked Luna, but it's also true that when I was having trouble getting to sleep I'd put on their CD and I'd be slumbering soundly before the last song came on.  So for that reason I've stayed away from their shows.   :)

volunteer to fight Bush in swing states like Virginia (http://www.democrats.org/roadtrip/)

Yup, I did that at a show of theirs once...very snoozy stuff.  I need a little more energy at a show...
