I am pretty sure everyone has heard this news. I am wondering what is so awful with doing 45 days. Maybe it will straighten her out and let her know she is just like the rest of us and $$$$ doesn't exclude her. This is to me is a mute point and should not be #1 on news.
-
I could give two shits if she straightens out or not. She can live her life (which sounds pretty nice, actually) however she wants. There are a million people like her in this country. If people stopped giving her attention, she wouldn't be a celebrity anymore.
-
Was anybody else able to guess who started this thread just based on its title?

This is to me is a mute point
Then why did you start another thread about it?

I was thinking exactly the same thing...although I'd lo'o'ove to be her cellmate, ifyernowotamsayin. ;)

Can we put picture of Paris Hilton in her prison jumpsuit next to the word "Schadenfreude" in dictionaries now?

"Mute" is a wonderfully ironic typo.

Have you ever noticed that it is only females celebs that go to jail for their crimes...Martha Stewart, Li'l Kim, Paris?
While OJ, Robt.Blake & Phil Spector roam free.
-
Hey, Ian Brown went to prison for threatening to chop a stewardess's hands off. That's a music-related male who got sent up.
He actually was sent to Stangeways. Strangeways, there he went.

Did they call him Hugh Cornhole in the pokey.

You have to admit, this is a great premise for a reality TV series (or a line of porn flicks).

I doubt they called him anything other than "Mr Cornwell, sir"

i'm just saying we shouldn't see this like it is suppose to be the most important story. It is #100 out of 100.

She's now asking Arnie to pardon her extremely spoiled little ass. Supposedly, hundreds have signed the petition. Idiots! You know she wouldn't lift one over-pampered finger to help any of them out if they were the ones in jail.

Anyone familiar with UK law able to explain why Pete Doherty hasn't done prison time yet?

Because he was knighted.

Yeah for real, he served two months in 2003 for trashing his band mate's apartment...and since has had a rap-sheet a mile long full of drug and driving violations.
He should be thrown in jail just for being a waste of life.

I know this makes me "uncool," but I think "Blender" is sort of a good, fun magazine. I read it every month.
Anyhow, they have a section every month where readers ask questions (usually) regarding music-related urban legends ("Is it true Courtney Love was in Faith No More?" "Did Keith Richards really have his blood changed in Switzerland?" etc.)
A couple of months ago someone wrote:
"Why isn't Pete Doherty in jail?"
I thought that was funny.

I don't know....I just don't know. You think you know the country you grew up in, but it's not like that anymore.
Man looks up on a yellow sky
And the rain turns to rust in his eye
Rumours of his health are lies
Old england is dying
His clothes are dirty shade of blue
And his ancient shoes worn through
He steals from me and he lies to you
Old england is dying
Still he sings an empires song
And he keeps his navy strong
And he sticks his flag where it ill belongs
Old england is dying
Youâ??re asking what makes me sigh now
What it is makes me shudder so
Well
I just freeze in the wind
And Iâ??m numb from the pummeling of the snow
That falls from high in yellow skies
Where the time stained of england flies
Where the homes are warm and the mothers sigh
Where comedians laugh and babies cry
Where criminals are televised politicians fraternize
Journalists are dignified and everyone is civilised
And children stare with heroin eyes
Old england!
Evening has fallen
The swans are singing
The last of sundays bells is ringing
The wind in the trees is sighing
And old england is dying

Prison should be primarily for minorities and the unattractive and there should be a different set of rules and standards for those who make an effort to be nicely-kempt and presentable.
Someone said to me, "What a country. We can't find Osama Bin Laden, but we're putting Paris Hilton in jail."
I pointed out that there are different agencies working on the two cases.
The traffic patrolmen in Hollywood who arrested Paris Hilton for driving under the influence aren't in charge of tracking down and capturing Osama Bin Laden, too.
It would simply be too much to ask. They have their hands full with Paris. Otherwise, it would have been a great thing to call them on. Regardless, I thought I'd try it on a meter maid in downtown Baltimore today:
"You people can't catch Osama Bin Laden but you fine a poor working stiff like me for parking in a handicapped space."
F.Y.I.: Meter maids carry billy clubs and they're not afraid to use them.
What a country. We can't find Osama Bin Laden but we can make poorly-thought-out analogies based on weak premises and strained metaphors.
That's hot.

Paris Hilton gets off way2 easy (http://thesuperficial.com/2007/05/paris_hilton_gets_off_easy.php)
Paris Hilton's jail sentence has been cut in half from 45 days to 23 due to "good behavior." Additionally, they'll be giving her her own special needs housing unit separated from the other prisoners.
"This was decided because of her high profile," Whitmore told Reuters. "She will do fine if she follows the rules."
I'm not going to argue with the special needs housing unit, because, well, that sounds about right, but what is this good behavior they're talking about? The only thing she's done so far is show up late to her court hearing. Oh, she didn't murder anybody? That's another 23 days off. At this rate they'll end up sending her on a Hawaii vacation and apologizing.

As they should. Jailing America's princess is more of an affront to our way of life then 9/11. This prosecutor and judge are the real terrorists.
