With that said, in Ramsey's defense, I heard a bit of some big political blowbags' meeting (Congressional or something) on NPR last week on my way to work. From what I could gather, it had something to do with the Fed. money being cut for DC's homeland defense budget.
Ramsey was there and had a few words, most of what seemed to be ignored by the majority, of course. The man seemed truly concerned and did a very good job at pleading his case, when they let him get a word in edgewise. Basically, he was saying that they need more man power to fight local crime. He stated that a very large percentage of their attention has been taken away from working on the local scene to attend to homeland security issues, all at the expensive of the safety of the District.
Also, he made sure he got in a good jab by saying that they need more real man power, or 'boots on the ground', as they say, and not more cameras! Good one, Ramsey! You're my man.
