There are too many Boy Who Cried Wolf -types and The Sky Is Falling -types. And most are of both types.
It's getting so you can't swing a cat without hitting a lefty crybaby.
Can one of you please provide me the address in Afghanistan where I can send the brave Islamic freedom fighters a donated bag of US flour?
-
keep on trollin', eh? :) seems to me they're not crying wolf, they're calling you out. being questioned and asked to explain oneself is tough, i know - just ask george w bush. maybe you two could form a support group. and since we're into generalizations: good to know far-right-wingnuts are as tempered and clearheaded (and entertaining!) as ever. rock on.

Actually, Dupek was the only one that explained himself (even if his theory was facetious or race-baiting) in the discussion of the absence of African Americans and Hispanics from the academic all-stars list. The rest of you hyper-PC pansies simply screamed "racist" rather than attempting your own explanations of the phenomenon.
-
I am terribly confused.
-
You guys are as bad as the "artists" that speak their view on econmomics & politics on stage. Shut up and sing. In this case, shut up and talk about music/9:30 related subjects.
PS- The left can suck it.
-
ggw, the Washington Post article you mentioned yesterday offers explanation...and it's not theory at all.
-
IMAmoose24: Shut Up and Sing is a lefty documentary, am I correct?
Didyalikeit?

What was the factual explanation you gleaned from that story?

And you're surprised by this? This is a board for a music club that tends to cater towards the younger "indie/alternative" demographic. Based on my unscientific observations, that segment of the population tends to lean more to the left.
Maybe you'd be more comfortable with the forums for Jaxx or The Birchmere? Oh yeah, they don't have forums.

Yeah, how dare they exercise that damned right to free speech!
-
i dont think my feeling that dupek has nothing useful to ever contribute to this board has anything to do with him being right or left.
half of the time his posts arent even his own. (and he sometimes doesnt even link or credit the post) and mostly the rest sounds like he's just repeating something he's heard on the radio or TV.
in fact, i wouldnt be surprised if we found out one day that Dupek is actually some "spam-bot" that just hacks into the forum!!!
i dont think that makes me left or right though.
-
he does contribute valuable hawkwind news and ... uh ... well, ... hm.
-
.....just wondering.....what month is white history month, and what cable channel is WET?
-
On my tv, it's called CMT.

Sorry, but I don't have the kind of cash to buy all of the new releases and see all the bands live that some Little Hitlers on this bboard apparently possess. That and pricey tuitions and apartments, doubtless parentally financed. Heck, I can't even afford to go out now and purchase all of the Beatles albums like some do.

And I cannot afford to fly out on bi-weekly vacations to see the latest Tolerance, Holocaust or Slavery museums either. For you see..I don't spring from a group of well-moneyed elitist like some on the bboard.

"Sorry, the time in which you may edit your message has elapsed."

Little Hitlers?
-
Might I suggest you further investigate this term on Wikipedia, if you don't understand. Wikipedia, btw, is thought to be a fount for delicious niblets of fluffy info.
-
have you found a job yet?
-
Yes. Part time. I work full time as arm candy for my wife.
-
best of luck not getting fired, again, from either your part time or full time job.
-
Thanks. I learn something from every firing. This time I learned how to keep my pie hole shut while in the company of women, especially supervisory women. Women are cruel.

Rats! Two minutes too late!

i just know you werent talking about me, since i never went to college, live in baltimore, in a rowhome and miss countless shows due to lack of finance AND only buy, on the average, 5 CDs a month, and 4 of them are used!
but i dont think we should criticize someone for being privately schooled, overpaid and underworked priveleged children of the DC metro area just because they are so.
hell, i wish i was in their shoes! such opportunity! :)

you said something offensive or inappropriate? impossible.

i sat at the heritage foundation table tonight at the national press foundation awards dinner (don't ask), and amazingly no-one there was from a well-moneyed elitist background, everyone there came from a working class neighborhood and also couldn't buy CDs
we had a fascinating conversation on how they trick blue-collar americans into buying into right-wing corporate fiscal policy because they've managed to "connect" with them on a fabricated anti-intellectual cultural level ... it was an interesting couple of hours

i prefer the term "classic liberalism" for that economic policy.

wow, i had totally bought into what hoya was saying - until that parrot came along. totally changed my mind. "braack" - of course! now that's what i call an argument based on analysis and substance. good thing folks around here hold themselves to the same standards that they would hold others to...
