So, the Sisters of Mercy are reforming and touring...and have announced they are playing March 7 at the 9:30.
Anyone have details on presale...or even when they are going on sale?
Yes, I may be a dork, but I want to see them. I had tickets to see them with Public Enemy (yes, this was a real concert) in Los Angeles but the show was cancelled.

hah, i remember when they toured with PE. Hmm, I guess I would check this show out.

25 whores and the room next door.....
I really regretted not going to see them the last time they played 9.30. That must have been 5 years ago.

The last time they played at the 9:30 was 23 September 1999. Before they started playing, their smoke machines were pumping out so much smoke they set off the smoke alarm in the club. They were good, but I thought they could have been lots better if Andrew wanted it to be. If the reviews are good and Andrew des not demand a kings ransom for a ticket, I will go see them.

It sure was, fortunately that tour package hit the east coast first before throwing in the towel due to shitty ticket sales. They played here at Constitution Hall and I remember PE being late to go onstage and Sisters of Mercy sucking so bad that instead I went downstairs to watch folks get their pictures taken in front of backdrops with airbrushed sports cars on them.

Even if they sucked I think I'd have to go see them to bring back memories of the first time I saw them at the 9:30, around 1984ish, playing a gig with 9353. At that time they had no drummer, just a drum machine, and if I remember correctly, no bassist either. Us snotty little narrow-minded punks made fun of their affectations, but they were great.

I'll go to see the Warlocks finally...

Yup I remember this quite well. The smoke didn't really let up either for the whole show.
It'll be interesting to see how many of these dates get cancelled. It's always happened in the past with SoM.
