To charge by phone or find the location nearest you, call:

and from the FAQ:
Q: What does Sold Out mean?
A: Sold Out means that there are no more tickets available for purchase.
Duh. But you'd be surprised at how many people ask that one (this is the FAQ, after all). The good news is, you can buy tickets early, and avoid feeling like you just don't know how life has passed you by. So, if ever that old slogan applied, it does here: "Don't delay do it today!"
Note: If the show does indeed sellout, all requests for tickets posted in this forum, will either be moved to the Ticket x-change forum (http://www.930.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=4) or deleted depending on how the moderators are feeling that day.

Well, since 10:01 Tickets.com has been saying "Tickets are not available together in the quantity you requested in this section at this time. Please try a different section, or fewer tickets."
The quantity I requested being "2"
Should I take that as an indication that it sold out in less than 1 minute?
Or is this just more Tickets.com technical trouble?
-
<img src="http://www.engrish.com/image/engrish/weedisstrong.jpg" alt=" - " />
-
must have been a technical problemâ?¦..it took a few minutes but it worked finally
-
keep trying - i got a ticket at 10:10.

Does this mean that you two both actually want to see the darkness?

I think it will be a fun show.
Music doesn't have to be a serious business all the time.
-
I think these guys fall into the "Oh, man - you gotta see this" category. I expect it to be horribly fun.
-
It's 10:16 -- is it sold out yet?!?!?!
If someone got me a ticket, I'd go....
-
i work at a ticket outlet
we couldn't even sell one ticket
wouldn't let me in & bam sold out
a little peeved
-
yes! it's effing sold-out! i tried to get tickets on-line @10:07 and couldn't. the darkness had a presale on their website.i'm sooooo dissapointed.
-
I called tickets.com at 10:05 and the lady told me it was sold out. I kept trying online and at 10:17 got through. I wonder what's going on...
-
any 9:30 out there?
any shot at a second, third or fourth show being added!
PPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLeEEEAASSSEEEE
-
I just called and was told the show sold out in three minutes. This after trying to purchase tickets for 10 minutes via the web and being told that tickets weren't available in the quantity I requested (Qty 1) at 10:00am.
Something doesn't smell right.
-
When people select the number of tickets, they are reserved for 5 minutes -- people who didn't put their credit card info in fast enough or decided not to buy lose that reservation -- so those get freed up ... I got my tickets right as they opened up the gates -- at first it complained of high server volume -- but I got them after two retries. It is going to be a fun show ...
-
It may actually be sold out by now, but it definitely didn't sell out in 3 minutes. Tickets constantly get put back in the pool because people can't type their info in fast enough, they use invalid credit cards, etc.
I'd keep trying until at least 11:00, if you really want to go.
-
i got one at 1025, a parking pass right after that, and a second ticket at 1035 - now it seems shut down - whew!
-
Thanks. I will not give up hope! ;-)
-
I just don't see the allure here...sorry to say that these guys will go the way of Veruca Salt and Candlebox. In 1 1/2 years, used CD bins will be filled with copies of "Permission to Land".
-
Wow, they must really suck. I think that's the first time I've ever heard Bunnyman say anything remotely negative!

Lighten up, Francis.
-
just got another one - 1045am
-
Well, I managed to get one ticket for myself at 10:00 but tried again later to get one for a friend, no such luck, called up tickets.com at 10:28, they said they were sold out. Craziness. I was psyched to see these guys at Fletcher's back last fall, but couldn't go cuz I'm stuck here at school w/o transportation to baltimore, and couldn't convince anyone to come w/ me and drive us. As I recall those tix didn't sell out until about a week and a half after going on sale, and Fletcher's is tiny. This band is growing here in the states by leaps and bounds!
-
LOL...I'm not a negative kind of guy, but I've been suckered into hype before and this is just one band that is not worthy of it. I don't mean to offend people's tastes, but it's music for people that don't need substance. That's not always bad...fluff can be fun and entertaining. But with so much good music out there these days, I just find it hard to believe that 80's metal schlock is somehow cool again. Granted, the Darkness do it tongue-in-cheek, but what will their 3rd or 4th record be like? Are they going to then go through their "Nirvana" phase and lead a grunge revival? Headbanger's ball can have the Darkness host and run through 80's metal classicks, and Nikki Six can return from the grave for a guest appearance. Awesome dude. :)
-
Why didn't they charge $40 for this show>?
-
Maybe Seth could now book these guys...
http://www.notquitegnr.com/ (http://www.notquitegnr.com/)
My friend is dating a friend of the guitarist...says they put on quite a show...
-
How about these guys? http://www.gabba.co.uk/ (http://www.gabba.co.uk/)
-
Just curious, but is Nikki Sixx really dead?

Give me a fucking break.....
It's a fucking concert. It's not like we're marrying the band.
Honestly, when you decide to go to a show, do you really think about where this band might or might not be in 5-10 years before deciding whether you are allowed to enjoy them in the here and now?
If you do, may I suggest you detach a little.
It's a band -- they play music -- it sounds like they put on a good show -- it's $15.
What they may or may not be doing 3-4 records from now or what they may or may not do on MTV in 5 years just doesn't even factor.
-
Eh, I know it's crap, but it's entertaining crap.
Now, while it would have been cool for a 15 dollar larf to see them, I'm not THAT pressed. I just think it's incredible that it's sold out in less than an hour.
(Of course, the fact that Greatseats.com has 18 tickets at $235.00 each certainly reminds me of the good ol' days of scalping.)
-
Sorry to touch a nerve ggw...I'm trying to crack a bit of a joke too. I have guilty pleasures like everyone else, but the hype surrounding this band is a bit much, wouldn't you agree? I would almost be tempted to go and witness the spectacle if people wouldn't be taking it so seriously. I guess that's what I don't understand. The way the music industry is it's about latching onto what can be marketed, and this is just one instance where it's a bit too much hype. I hope you'll have a great time and the show kicks ass and you can prove me wrong.
-
wow, I really liked The Darkness and all, that song is way catchy and addictive, and I would LOVE to see them live...but damn, are they really THAT important? I can't see myself staking out a website for ANY band...I can't believe all these people are so desperate for just this one. what is it exactly that's got all you guys so worked up??
-
the darkness is now completely sold out, all of the tickets were sold immediately, a few were released due to invalid credit cards, but they are all sold now
-
Like I said, it's not a life or death thing, and the tickets being gone so quickly completely shocked me. I figured I could log on at 10:01 and get two stinking tickets. I guess there's more fervor around these guys than I had anticipated.
-
did anyone see their performance on MTV2uk's 5th birthday concert
they were amazing, over the top, play their arses off performers
had to see them now, in a 9:30 type club before they either 1) die or 2) go to some stinkin patriot center venue -= couldn't pay me enough to see them at smith center
-
The Darkness is not important. The Velvet Underground, they are important. To be an IMPORTANT band, you have to have low record sales.

Who on earth said they were important? It's gonna be a fun night of silly rock and roll antics. Nothing more. Nothing less. In this case, people were smart enough to know that if they want tickets, they need to put forth a little effort. It seems to have paid off.
-
Well the front page now says: Darkness, SOLD OUT.
That must have been the clubs quickest sellout since JT.

yeah. Sorry for the F-bombs. It just strikes me as a bit odd to consider a band's future when deciding whether to buy a $15 ticket to a single show. It's not a lifetime investment.
Hype shouldn't matter in the decision.
The Hives got blasted for being derivative, wearing matching suits, using gimmickry, being overhyped, etc... But their show was phenomenal. It was completely over the top, but it was also one of the most fun shows I've seen in years.
Like skeeter, I expect the Darkness to be a fun, theatrical, spandex clad, scissor-kicking, tongue-in-cheek rock'n roll show. If they disappear after that, so what?

maybe I just think it's important cause I have better stuff to do with an hour of my morning than watch a website. it just seems really silly to me to want to go to a show so badly...there will always be more shows
-
Why not save your money for a worthy cause (http://www.tnkfk.com/) instead?
-
Geez take a work related phone call and come back to find people already asking for tickets to the show... Unfortunately, I'll be watching this show from the cheap seats as the other DJs who grew up listening to the Darkness influences was as stoked as I am about djing the show.
I would watch the front page regularily thats where any additional shows will be announced.
and any tickets requests will be promptly moved to the proper forum and good luck for those of you trying to get tickets.
-
Plenty of tickets already available on eBay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?query=darkness+tickets+DC&ht=1&sosortproperty=1&from=R10&BasicSearch=)
Isn't capitalism grand?
-
Woah. Tickets are already going for over $75 a pair on ebay. Dang. I guess if you don't have them...
Who would pay that much to see the Darkness? I mean, sure, it's probably going to be somewhat Flaming Lips-y camp and fun onstage, but that's a lot of money. I don't get it.
-
the darkness are hypemasters wet dream... the young want to see because the band is deemed cool, the middle aged balding guys want to rock again...
i suggest registering on the darkness site for any future presales...
and hell yes $75 is to much, save the money and see several shows... go see The National, British Sea Power, The Von Bondies. these bans will put out significant product down the road. the Darkness are just the newest version of Andrew WK or the Strokes. will anyone really give a rats arse about the second record? maybe if they pullout of mothballs the songwriting team responsible for Sweets hits.
-
Does anyone remember when the Caps made the playoffs and Dot-Com Teddy wrote a computer program that disallowed Penguins fans from buying tickets for games at the MCI Center?
Someone should do that for other venues here in the area. Most of the eBay Darkness tickets are out-of-town scalpers.
-
let's face it, the state of ticket sales in this country *sucks*. Scalpers, ticketbastard, free market capitalism...
My personal favorite is the "shipping fee" for will call tickets.
-
i met this guy at a U2 concert a couple years ago. He had quit his job to follow them around the country...he was funding his trip by scalping U2 and Britney Spears tickets on Ebay.
-
i'll bet that most of the scalpers leisurely got their tickets through the presale, if there was a presale. presales don't benefit the true fan anymore, seeing as there are sites you can pay money to that reportedly track such things. basically presales suck

Some dude on Craigslist (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/tix/25186073.html) claims to have 20 tickets.
-
Screw the Darkness. John Edwards tix (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16122&item=2228455924) are going for two benjis apiece.

Yep. I remember that. (Nothing like when abe sold group tickets to the Detroit fan club in the 98 finals before the general public here.)
Oh well, at least I didn't camp out for days like in the old days. Staking out a website for an hour in the morning is nothing. I'm just bummed that I couldn't get tickets.

Isn't DC just a southern Pittsburgh colony? ;)
News about Pitt vs Georgetown @ the MCI Ctr on Tuesday:
"Pitt erased an eight-point deficit and turned the tables in a 68-58 victory before 11,876 fans, about half of them Pitt fans..."
"with 12 seconds remaining, the Pitt contingent chanted "Let's go Pitt" making it seem like a game at the Petersen Events Center."
I remember many Caps/Pens games even back @ the old Cap Ctr where it felt like a home game for the visiting team.

Yeah, only Spinal Tap isn't on MTV, VH1, and the radio right now.
I expect the crowd to be filled with poppy people... (unlike the crowd at the re-release of This Is Spinal Tap in theatres, what was it, 3 years ago?)

I believe in a thing called FLUB!!!
Wow... It must be great to be a scalper. I mean with all these tickets on ebay, I guess the 50 or so friends of these people had decided to skip out. (yea, right) Tips for Darkness Management: Larger Venue...Add A Date...Mid-Priced Tickets...And Get Your Head Out Of Your Ass!
