this guy is scalping the PASSWORD......
 
 (yes i am buying Bulls tickets for my trip to Chicago this December)

upon further research, there are (23) different auctions easily accessible for various presale passwords!!!
 
  in fact, there is a ebay username "password4you" where apparently all he DOES is sell passwords.

Isn't there a website somewhere that gives passwords out?  I remember seeing it a few months ago....I must have gotten the link here.

it's too bad there's not a way to restrict these things further... for example having a site that only accepts http referrers from inside the board, so that only people logged in to the board could get in....

yeah, scalping presale passwords is really awful and makes me sad. But look at the guy's username: smackdownprices4u.   :)

MoveOn and Pearl Jam's idea seems like a good one -- personalized presale passwords that can only be used to buy 2 (or 4) tickets.  If more than one person uses that code, both sales are cancelled.   Doesn't stop scalping, but restricts the password really well.
