Okay, am I going to be the only hipster there on Friday? (Considering that none of you seem to know much about them except Kurosawa and I already know her story.)
Autolux has perked my interest lately too from some songs that I've heard. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they were included on the bill.
That's okay, I'll just get to have them all to myself. :p
-
I'm considering going. I bought the new CD on Tuesday, but haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. If I like it right away, I'll probably go.
-
i might go. i am still undecided. but i want to go, and i feel i should go. so i am leaning towards going.
-
Am I going?
-
For $10 I am likely to go. I've heard an Inouk song before, they seem interesting.
-
marquee are you and the missus thinking about going? if so, it might swing my undecidedness.

autolux has posted they are not on this tour!
waht gives

Everyone go!....I want to go, can't find anyone else who wants to. A late Friday show? Cool beans, and I can sleep in on Saturday. Yeah!
Alas, I looked for the CD in San Francisco and couldnt' find it at either Amoeba or Virgin Megastore. Odd, huh.... I saw Inouk's CD, however. Didn't buy it on spec, though.
-
I believe Walkie mentioned Inouk was very good before disappearing in to the land of higher education.
-
A friend of mine in LA is a huge Britrock fan and she's highly recommending HOTS. Then again, she likes Muse. But we'll try to make it back from the Annapolis Boat Show in time for HOTS.
-
i would like to go see HOTS, i love thier new song, but a friend of mine is moving to FLA and we'll be tying one on in old charm city tomorrow
-
you got the wrong marquee (I think)

Because I will be out of town and will miss the show tomorrow, I went to Chicago last weekend to see Hope of the States. The show was astounding. Intense orchestral rock at its best. I highly, highly recommend the show. The band performs at a whole different level live. And with the films on the back drop? Wow.
My flight was late so I only caught the last two songs of Inouk. I enjoyed them but didn't feel like I heard enough to form an opinion. They had great energy on stage.
You'd be crazy not to go! ;)

U mebee wright. I'm Deepak Chopra now, aren't I?
-
*sigh* i'm so confused.
perhaps i have the wrong markie/mark e./marquee...
anyway i will probably be there.
-
Can't say that I'm all that thrilled with Inouk from the several songs that I've heard but they do sound like an appropriate band for HOTS, genre wise. However, they have one good song while the others are mediocre.
Anyone on the fence about this show should definitely join us. I've heard nothing but glowing reports of their live show. I have several of their boots and, regardless of their recording quality, you can tell that they put on a good live show.

oh shit.
i always pictured it being at the opposite corner (like tucked behind that little balcony where the opening bands usually stand to watch the main act).
-
Kosmo, we can only really wave at you, right? It's up awfully high....we can't actually talk to you, can we?
-
talking is fine, swing by and check out the view :)

Great show. Wish Kurosawa had been there, but had a great time with jag, got to see redsock and ran in to snailhook at the end.
- Best t-shirt: our fantabulous DJ, Kosmo. Way to go, K. "V-neck OTE"
- I only caught one song of Inouk, so can't really comment.
- HOTS was really good, even with the problem with one of the three guitars during "Black Dollar Bills" -- literally, the roadies had his equipment opened up on stage trying to do electrical work on it. And, have you watched this awesome video? Link in a post above....
- Most sparsely attended show I've ever been to at the club.
- Talk about squiffy hair, four of the six had teased, very "done" squiffy dos. But the band were energetic, fun, and really nice guys who all came out after the show.
- Which made me feel guilty that I got in for free -- THANKS, Chimbly. :) I did my best to make it up at the bar. And I will BUY the album.
- When HOTS come back, y'all need to go.
-
you mean this t-shirt :D

Stick to DMB or some other Frat house hype band than that doesn't require much work in the cerebral cortex.
They are very good and put on a good show, short of the one technical glitch.
Mankie would have loved the rocking violin player. He and Sam (keyboards/guitar/singer) were obviously the core of the band and very in-sync with each other.
Inouk were pretty much as I had expected. Some good songs and some mediocre ones. Good opener for HOTS but not strong enough to bring me out on their own strength.
Kosmo, thanks for the great songs! HOTS liked your selection too. Set list, please?
-
will do i've spent all afternoon watching Veronica Guerin yet another film about Ireland with a U2 song in it... depressing and uplifting at the same time this one.

I was less than impressed with Inouk. They started off really bad, IMHO, but got better towards the end of the set. Maybe I just couldn't get past the 80s hair.
HOTS was REALLY good! I was pissed there wasn't any merch. I would like to have gotten their CD last night. I definitely see the Mogwai comparisons, but much better and accessible than Mogwai. Definitely recommend people see these guys the next time they come through.
That was Kosmo in the VOTE shirt? I saw you on the floor during one of the sets. Then again, I think there were so few people that I could describe just about everyone at the show! I don't think I've ever seen such a sparse crowd at the club.
-
HOTS wasn't bad. I would definetly compare them with Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky. Though some of their songs are very very different than those two bands. Missed Inouk, though I did kinda want to see them. It was by far the smallest crowd I've ever seen at hte Club, and the band even commneted on how big the venue was. Obviously they have been playing much smaller places i nthe states, as well they should have. Clovette liked them, whicc is a pretty good stamp of apporval. I'd see them again, especially after i was more familiar with their album.

I think we may have passed each other on way to and from the backbar at one point, would have stopped but had other things on my mind at the time.

before i bumped into you, i had spotted you walking around because of your shirt (cool shirt)...just didn't make the connection that it was you. the catherine wheel was a nice touch.
hmm, show was decent..that one track with the b&w animated video of the train wreck and the guy trudging around with a briefcase was excellent though.
-
great show, I think ... I was pretty fucking hammered ... and I remember everything pretty much up to Black Dollar Bills, the whole night went downhill from there ...
if you saw some guy stumbling around in a shins t-shirt, that was me... I hope I didn't puke on anyone ...
