Which is in my Palm calendar!   ;)   It's gotten good reviews all around.  NY Times covered it about a week or two ago...

Please, please, PLEASE pick a night that is realistic for those of us in Baltimore. I want to see this film so badly but would prefer to see it with Kurosawa and the loons. (She and I had previously discussed seeing this together but not sure of the logistics yet.) A late Sunday afternoon would be good if we can't do a Saturday. Weeknights are extremely tough for us especially if they are way too early or too late.

Should we just try for the late afternoon Sunday show -- October 24, probably around 5:00?  I'm game for that...

Awesome, or on cable:  Sundance Channel: Nov 6 at 9:00pm; Nov 9 at 8:00pm; Nov 25 at 10:00pm.

Wow...cool.  But tomorrow is bad, as the Libertines play the 9:30, and I'd have to book to make it to Avalon by 7:00 and then may not get home to change (nothing like a 9:30 club show in a suit).

And, of course, I don't have Sundance Channel....

Where did you hear this?  Not that I'm questioning you, but I find it odd that they'll put the film on cable so soon.

It's listed on the Avalon Theater site:

DiG" - Sundance Channel Special Showin

"DiG" appeared at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and won Ondi Timoner the Grand Jury prize for Documentary Film at the Sundance Film Festival.  The film offers a revealing look at the contemporary rock music scene by focusing on the complicated love/hate relationship between two West Coast bands. Courtney Taylor of Portland, Oregon's The Dandy Warhols greatly admires Anton Newcombe, the rebellious creative force behind San Francisco's The Brian Jonestown Massacre. However, professional respect is eventually compromised after the Oregon band snags a recording contract and is accused of selling out. (2004) TV14 (AC, AL, BN, V) (1:47) Stereo

Airs on Sundance Channel: Nov 6 at 9:00pm; Nov 9 at 8:00pm; Nov 25 at 10:00pm

I am a Sundance subscriber and they DO put them on cable very soon or during the theatrical run......I just recorded "Uncovered: The Truth About The War In Iraq" off of Sundance.......it was in theaters not long ago at all......I suggest Sinclair air this documentary the night after the 30 year old Kerry slander piece....at least it's topical and lets the American people know they are fucking stupid enough to elect a liar with blood spattered all over his hands!.....

don't even get me started on the steaming pile of bs that the sinclair group is serving up.  one of the most outlandish claims come via their own website.

"We welcome your comments regarding the upcoming special news event featuring the topic of Americans held as prisoners of war in Vietnam. The program has not been videotaped and the exact format of this unscripted event has not been finalized. Characterizations regarding the content are premature and are based on ill-informed sources"

And yet "Stolen Honor" is showing in the program listing for severl of their stations.  Which means the "content" has already been decided on.  Well at least the companies low performing stock is getting hammer even more.  And there is full blown advertiser boycott under way, plus the protest will kick in full force when it's time to renew the licenses.

Anyone catch this last night at The Avalon?  I liked it, though I'll admit I want to pick up a BJM disc now.

I saw an advance screening of Dig on October 20th. It's an interesting and eye-opening film. It also shows how Anton on one hand can aspire with his music, but he can p*ss you off with his messed up reality and larger than life ego.
