Great show at the club last night, and a rare experience these days to enjoy really good music without being packed in like sardines. Also nice to see [??? - I forgot your user name! Sorry :( )

what's the the mic in the foreground of the second pic? my guess would be an audience mic, for a live recording. did the band mention this?
-
Yeah, they said they were taping it and selling it at the merch booth...or something like that.
-
He typically records all his live shows and makes them available on a cd after the show. Some of them are available on his website.
My interest in this show went down due to the suckiness of his new material.

Stars of Track & Field suck, too. Belle and Sebastian should sue them for using their song title.
-
I'm not saying J. Arthur sucks. Mind you, when he played Jammin Java on his last tour, it was awesome. Bit odd that he went from JJ to the 9:30.
Yes, SOTAF do suck.

Whore of Babylon, was that you I talked to after the show?

They put on a great show when they opened for The Long Winters. I really enjoyed them and look forward to seeing them again. But I already forgot who they're playing with. Bought way too many concert tix.

I couldn't make it last night (too bad - I could have seen the Doom!). Anyhow, funny you say that Rhett...There are a few songs I like but the remaining are a little bit of a snooze.
Too bad about SOTAF...I watched them on a SXSW show, they were all right...a little lackluster, but I dig their guitar sound in parts.

It was a very good show. I was very surprised.
It's nice to have some breathing room!
He is so much better with a full band.

ah, Dr. Phibes, now I remember your user name. Shame on me considering we're both doctors... apologies!
Nonameface, I'm not worth coming out for, but you did miss a good show.
You're not related to Nothingface, who used to post here aeons ago are you?

Great photos, Doom! Glad you were able to check out JA & the Lonely Astronauts. I love that he sells the show right after it's over. The version of "Take Me Home" that was performed in Portland (May 4) is something I listen to almost daily now.

Nonetheless, still a rare sighting.
Interesting, but no, not related. (Under another name, I'm known for providing brownies.)
