What ya gonna buy or pre-ordered that will come out tomorrow?
Mine are:
the new Arcade Fire (deluxe)
the new Do Make Say Think
the new Dean & Britta
the new !!!
-
Burnout Dominator
-
new Arcade Fire, Air and Stooges.
-
None.
The Dean and Britta seems pretty decent, and I like maybe two of the four Son Volt songs I've heard. Maybe those two I'd pick up used.
The Stooges album is bound to be a disappoinment. I'll stick with my memories of their live show!
I did order the Borat dvd from Best Buy, mostly for the free t-shirt.
-
Britta is a fox.
-
definitely need to pick up arcade fire and air, if i can find the time...
what's the word on DMST? anyone read a review, or heard previews? it's been out for 2 weeks now, hasn't it? found two tracks here: http://myspace.com/doomachesatan (http://myspace.com/doomachesatan)
-
Just The Arcade Fire for me.
-
im liking the albert hammond jr cd a whole lot...might pick that up
-
Full album streams of most of these new releases here. (http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/)

AIR AIR AIR AIR AIR AIR AIR
AIR AND JARVIS COCKER. AIR AND JARVIS COCKER!!
Also HIGHLY recommend the Albert disc. I've had it since October or November or so, and it was easily in my top five of last year (this year)'s albums. Get it get it get it. It rules. It's also too short!!
-
Thanks for posting that. I'm really liking the Eleni Mandell album that is streaming there.

Arcade Fire - Neon Bible (special edition, probably)
Bright Eyes - Four Winds
Maria Taylor - Lynn Teeter Flower (It would seem that I'm the only one around here who cares about this one. >_>)
South Park Season 9
About that Albert Hammond album, should I or should I not allow the fact that I can't stand The Strokes to deter me from checking it out?
-
FYI, http://www.newburycomics.com (http://www.newburycomics.com) has good prices on neon bible and pocket symphony.
-
amazon.com is cheaper for Arcade Fire deluxe - $11.99 ! :p

What comes with the "special edition" of Neon Bible?
I'll probably get Neon Bible, Pocket Symphony, and Four Winds EP. Circuitcity has the first two for $8 and $10, respectively. (Probably not the special edition.)
-
NEON BIBLE: The deluxe CD version is packaged in a hinged box with two 32-page flip books designed by the band. The LP is double 180-gram audiophile quality with three sides of music and an etching on the fourth side.

Thanks for the info.
If it was a bonus disk or a DVD, I'd get it, but I'm not too keen on fancy packaging, especially since it probably won't fit in my CD bookcase.

The vinyl isn't out until May.

true dat. but for an order of "regular" neon bible + pocket symphony, newbury wins on price ($23.60 vs. $26.95). but spend another $2 at amazon and get free super-saver shipping.

Lists the Tuesday releases every Monday.

I can't expect The Stooges album to be all that good.
-
Do you hate The Strokes accross the board?
Albert's album sounded like the third album I wanted the Strokes to make that they didn't. A lot of it is very Strokes-y, but some of it is quite different...it's still a light pop-record but a little bit more introspective, and he has a different voice.
I say check it out anyway. It's a solid record.
-
Oh cool, new Kaiser Chiefs.

I was talking about The Stooges, but I'll check Albert Hammond Jr.'s album out.
-
Oops, and I was talking to Reod Dai...I need to start quoting, eh?
-
I wouldn't really say I hate them across the board, I just don't enjoy them for some reason. Come to think of it, I think it's probably their singer's voice that turns me off the most, so perhaps I'd like Hammond's better. The fact that Sean Lennon and Ben Kweller help out a bit bodes well for the album, that's for sure. I'll have to give it a try if I get a chance. Thanks. :)
Oh, and scratch the Bright Eyes. I remember thinking some time ago that it would probably be on sale at the show, but then forgot until right when I was walking up to the club.
March 20 is pretty huge, too, by the way.
