Any Sushi recommendations where a group of people can go for either G'town or Dupont?
-
In Dupont, I like Sushi Taro (http://www.sushitaro.com/) on 17th Street, near the CVS.
-
sushi taro on 17th & P is great.
-
Hands down: Georgetown -- Sushi Ko
Dupont -- Sushi Taro
Get reservations for both, esp. if it is a big group of people. Both are excellent and you won't be disappointed (just be prepared to spend some dough).
If you want decent all you can eat sushi, check out Nooshi on 19th Street, just south of Dupont. Between 5 and 8pm they have a sushi happy hour for $20 or $25 (the $25 has a few extra items on there) and they give you miso soup and dessert. It's decent, esp. for the price. And you probably won't need a reservation.

Nothing beats Kaz, although that's more downtown (19th and I).
Sushiko is always a good standby. It's up Wisconsin across the street from Grog & Tankard.
-
come on thirsty, you'd fit in quite well at signatures. . . :)
-
Kaz, Sushi Taro and Sushi Ko are all good, altho its been a long time since I've been to Sushi Ko
-
Actually, I did get taken there once by an old boss of mine. I had the fish and chips. Perhaps I should have ordered the Kobe beef.

Agree, plus, they'll put you in one of their special rooms if you have enough people.

Looks like I'm leaning towards Sushi Ko. Would you say it's menu prices are reasonable?
-
Reasonable? Definitely not cheap. Then again, now that I think about it both times I went there I didn't pay (I had rock stars take me both times). And I was drunk on saki. But from what I recall, it wasn't a cheap meal. Of course, it's all kind of a blur too.

i like sushi ko (dc's first sushi bar, btw) and think their prices are pretty good...expect to spend ~$20-30 a person including a beer/sake and tip. nice atmosphere too.

good guys...why, what is that?
I'm certain I don't know what you are referring to
-
What is the other strip club right around there? It's the one across the street from Sushi Ko and a little further up Wisconsin. It's really sketchy...I went there with a buddy of mine and it was hilarious how bad it was. The strippers were walking around like debutantes, offering their hands and saying "nice to meet you" and then walking away...the next minute they'd be on stage doing their thing. Hilarious.

JPs

I thought when you said "Good Guys" you were referring to that hamburger place you guys always talk about.
37 years old, and I've never been to a strip club. What a sheltered life I lead.
-
when i first moved to glover park, i thought good guys was a gay bar...boy was i mistaken. my husband and i always see the skanky strippers getting dropped off for work at JPs by their equally skanky boyfriends. for being on the crust of georgetown, it's pretty impressive that glover park has two strip clubs within 1 block (...and don't forget the whole foods)
