Hey gang---
I'm happy to report the owner of the Marx Cafe has extended the life of our humble post-punk, shoegaze-friendly "We Fought the Big One" dj night.
One of the people that had a key role in this victory was none-other-than Michael Darpino, one of the city's most active bloggers on the Metroblogging DC website. Michael put the word out about our last possible night at Marx, and we know that a lot of people were there because of him. As a loyal supporter of the Big One since the beginning, and knowing that he's such a huge fan of this kind of music, it was only a matter of time until Michael was asked to spin some records with us. Btw, I highly recommend checking out Michael's very entertaining blogs, and you can do so by clicking here: http://dc.metblogs.com/postlist.phtml?author=170. YEAH - I'm happy y'all got a repreive. I, alas, went out of town and missed the 'maybe the last' night. And I need to be around to cajole folks into going (not that your great dj night isn't incentive enough, but people can get very baby about staying out late on a Friday).
I'll try to get by this week!
