Poast your plans for the long weekend!
-
making stuff for adams morgan day and crafty bastards.
and trying not to think about my car which just gave me the finger on the way home and there's no chance of getting it into a shop by tuesday.
i know. marvel at me and my rock and roll lifestyle.
-
College football at all opportunities (incl LSU @ Mississippi State right now). Maybe Travis Morrison @ Iota on Saturday night.
-
Nothing too exciting.
Saturday: small bit of yard work, hanging out with my wife and dog, going to a party in the evening.
Sunday: Having a small cook-out with some friends and neighbors (and by small, I mean it might just be me and wifey); anyone in the Del Ray neighborhood that's not a creep is welcome to stop by.
Monday: 16 mile run. Then sleeping.
-
MICHIGAN/APPY STATE! GO BLUE!!
Other then that nothing.
-

Sat: 9 mile run, world music fest

weekend on cape cod, a tradition thanks to my former roommate's parents - they have rental properties there, but let the kids use them over labor day (have since they were teenagers - cool 'rents). so it'll be touch-football on the beach (how typically massachusetts), BBQ'ing for 15-20, beer-pong and dancing into the night to 80's hits. highlight is the annual "triathalon": 3.2 mile run, half mile swim, and three-beer chug... before breakfast. sunday night is traditionally spent at the drive-in. good times :)
-
tha annual sunday-before-labor day blowout at my friend's place, complete with lots of beer, pizza, burgers, chicken and a cheesy classic rock cover band.
a friend of mine wants me to go with him to "FettoFest" on saturday, some bullshit festival they're having at the MoCo Fairgrounds. Virginia Coalition, Jimmie's Chicken Shack and more!!!11111
whole wheat bread, a pretty decent punk/pop band from florida will be there, but their 30 minute set isnt enough for me to pay $15 and subject myself to the mostly high school crowd.
-
going away party tomorrow night!
more packing on saturday
flight on sunday
polyphonic spree on monday!!!
-
Maybe catch a movie. Thrilling, ain't i?
-
possiblyo going to see deerhunter at ottobar
-
VHS or Beta on Saturday.
Going to the Motherfucker Party in NYC on Sunday.
Planning for a hangover/Labor day brunch/chinatown bus ride back on Monday.
Good times, good times.
-

Tomorrow is my 30th birthday, so I'm headed to Baltimore for burgers and beers. Other than that, we're unpacking boxes at the new house.
-

Single (for the weekend) dads camping trip. Me and two buddies all have boys between ages of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 and the 6 of us are going on a Men's Camping Trip. Should be an interesting combination of wipes and whiskey, and at last count we were bringing along 5 guitars for one overnight camping trip.
-
relaxer - sounds like fun. don't stay up too late singin' and drinkin' around the fire, junior will be up at the crack of dawn regardless :) but, uh, 5 guitars? for three adults? either the kids are playing (doubtful), or someone is being a prima dona... it's a camping trip for eff's sake, are y'all bringing a guitar tech too? :p
-
Saturday: Nats vs. Giants (it's Teddy Roosevelt bobblehead day!)
Sunday: Chuck Brown's Birthday Bash. I hope there's cake.

No shit. We're all total guitar porn divas. The 3 of us rented a cabin (with electricity) a few months ago and between everyone, we had 9 guitars (3 electrics, 2 bass, 2 acoustic, 1 mandolin, 1 acoustic needing one of the guy's expert repair work), about a dozen pedals and 4 amps. It was seriously ridiculous. It took us longer to carry everything in and set it up than it did to drive there, and an hour after we started playing, we blew a fuse and had no electricity for the rest of the trip. So in a way, it was a good thing we brought those acoustics.
-
lots and lots and lots of tennis!!!, both on TV and live action...

That's totally us, except we mug to the camera and open our mouths even more. And then, when the song is over, we all kiss and shower together. We're bringing the prisonsexyback.

I'm being very white upper middle class this weekend...yesterday I went antiquing in Leesburg, today I sat in Starbucks and read a book, and tomorrow I'm going swimming @ the Country Club BBQ

Trying to avoid fucking runny-catchy on TV, which means leaving the TV off from now until February!
Work Sat, bike ride then work Sun...barbie on Sun evening then sit on patio with glass of vino and may burn a cigar.Work Mon.
-
I'll just settle for pretzel dogs at Auntie Anne's. They're better than your hotdog(s) and buns.

here's one thing i'm NOT doing this long weekend: sitting in labour day monday traffic. traditionally we clean up the house on monday morning, have lunch and hit the road... tolerable if you only have to go from the cape to boston. but hitting NYC mid-afternoon? no thanks. so i sent the girl off to the drive-in last night while i took a nap, and she napped while i drove all night. took 6 hours to get back, i shudder to think how long it would have taken us had we left at noon instead of midnight.
insert your own weekend traffic horror stories here.

the party on sunday was cool, not as big of a turnout as usual, but smaller parties are usually cooler anyways.
just got back from hiking up sugarloaf mountain. nature isnt really my thing, but my girlfriend's been asking me to do this with her for awhile, so i finally caved. it was cool though, once we got to the top.

the friendly skies were traffic free for me!!!
-
Such a boring weekend for me. Watched US Open all 3 days, ate bad food, played with dogs...that's about it.
-
no traffic horror stories for me. Took NJT bus out to visit a friend and never once got stuck in traffic. but considering shes only in hackensack its not very far away at all :)
-
friday- drove from chicago to madison to visit my wife's sister who is a sophomore at wisconsin. . .then off to pirates at brewers (high life, brats and fried cheese curds)
saturday- astros at cubs (old style and brats)
sunday- astros at cubs (more old style and brats)
monday- rested, and flew back to sf.

Went to Lake Anna Friday, came back Monday midday. Getting down on Friday was a drag (I didn't even try 95; took 66 to Route 29, which is a drag with traffic lights, etc., but at least you're moving).
I was prepared for another long drive yesterday, and I got home in an hour and a half; exactly what it should take.
-
The only horror I saw was going to Bob and Barbara's Lounge in Philly, drinking my first Pabst Blue Ribbon and being entertained by a cover band called "The Crowd Pleasers". Talk about a dive bar.

did anyone go see travis morrison at iota? was it super packed? how was the performance?
