Title: what a shock!
Post by: walkonby on June 04, 2007, 01:33:00 pm
i know this isn't about music, but it is about d.c.  the woman who ran over all those festival goers in south east was smoking crack all day long . . . and works for marion barry.  what a joke.  if any other goverment official went through what he has, he would of been gone so so long ago, but's he black and you don't do anything involving black people or they scream racism.  just ask oprah as she tries to get into a closed for the night boutique.

i guess the bitch set 'em up . . . and knocked 'em down.

I feel for those who got ran over but what the fuck is your point???  You feel another black person just "got away with some shit"?????  Yeah.  Cause "White America" really fears black people pulling the race card.     They think about that shit so much it's stopping 'em from going to Jimmy Buffett concerts and what not.

Like those wonderful Euro-diplomats that got away with running over that college girl a couple years back.  I don't see you starting a thread about that shit.  You need to realize that assholes come in all shapes and colors.  Just like you.  You fuckin' prick . . .

Yes, it sucks that this happened. Yes there are problems in the black community. What are you doing to help solve them, Mr. Walkonby?

Nothing.  Bono's handling that.  Can't have TOO many white champions of black causes.  It upsets the balance of the world and shit . . .   ;)

has it been confirmed she actually worked for barry?

even so, if she's the same person, she was just a temp office worker contracted through an agency.

not that it makes smoking crack all day and wrecklessly driving around with a kid in the car and running over 40 people any better, but i don't think barry is responsible.

HEY HEY FUCKING HEY!!!!!! Mr. fucking director....I don't give a shit what color you are, if you bring up Buffet on this message board the gloves are off...right pal?? I get enough of that shit down here !!!!

Just a question though....if blacks get away with stuff why are the prisons full of em? (OJ Simpson excepted of course) Yes the race card is pulled all too soon with a section of the black community, and it pisses me off to no end, but I don't think they get away with shit for being black, if this woman gets away with anything it's because she's in with the political in-crowd of dc, not because she happens to be black. That's just my opinion of course
Title: Re: what a shock!
Post by: walkonby on June 04, 2007, 07:06:00 pm
the only reason i pulled the race card in the first place, was because i read this idiot story about how this m.i.t. professor resigned over the fact that one of his black buddies didn't get something at the school, so of course he blamed whitey.  and then i just happen to see on you tube where spike lee was going around after katrina saying that the white goverment blew up the levees in new orleans to kill the blacks.  i was in an anger haze . . . and it was stupid.  the point of my post was to spell out the absurdity of people and crack and their ties to marion barry, still.  i deeply am sorry if i offended you director.  and yes, white people do love jimmy buffet.  and corona beer.  and acting like jerks at his shows.

Hey, I'm white and I think Jimmy Buffet is waaaay overrated and played out, I think Corona tastes like piss and I generally stand on the balcouny at shows, out of everyone's way.

Spike Lee would be a prick no matter what color his skin was, so don't hold that against the black folk.

Spike Lee is a shitty writer and a lousy director... there I said it. The best movie he directed was Inside Man, and that was only good because he didn't write it and was basically a hired gun brought in to direct Denzel since they had worked together before.

Dear Mr. Mankie,

My apologies.  (I can't quite figure out from your post if you're sick of Parrotheads or if you love them, but po-tay-to, po-tah-to let's call the whole fuckin' thing off.   ;)  )  I figured LONG ago that you're not a racist.  Nor are you concerned with political correctness.  You will berate any asshole, be they black, white, Spanish, Asian, or Martian for that matter.  I have a nice respect for you & think you're a cool cat.  My sarcasm-filled diatribe was in no form directed at you or people of your ilk . . .

Your post was pretty much spot on all-around.  And yes, unfortunately some black folk do use "injustice" as a crutch and that is SUPER wack.  But to go back to my earlier statement, assholes come in all shapes & sizes . . .

 Peace & blessings, mate . . .   ;)

Did either of you read both of the posts???  Bitingly sarcastic???? Yes.  Racist????? Nah.  For the most part, I tend to ignore racial posts on the board unless they're as blatant as this one was.  I personally don't think racial posts have any place here, but I don't have a message board to call my own so we can file my thoughts under "Barely fucking matters".  As far as me being a racist, I don't feel the need to dignify that with a response.  I'll assume le sonick was using his dry Canadian wit   :D

Doing pretty good man, we moved down to Fredericksburg so the concerts are few and far between.  Can you believe the only show we've seen this year was Johnny Winters?  Ok, after you all stop laughing let me just say it was actually a good show.

As for the Sox, I'm happy for them, especially since I have Ortiz, Drew and Lester on my fantasy team and am 42-21 so far, and that's with Lester coming up soon and will really boost my team.

Director.....I never had an opinion either way on Jimmy Buffet until I moved down here, now I'm just shit sick of him. Go in any bar with a local band and all you will hear is Buffet and Grateful Dead covers, with the odd Neil Young and America thrown in for good measure. Luckily we don't get enough Young covers for me to get sick of his stuff because I confess to being a Neil Young fan.

In your neck of the woods, he is king.  I forgot that.  Not particularly my cup tea is Mr. Buffett.  I'm a diverse cat, but lines gotta be drawn somewhere.  I will confess this however.  I had the experience of being one of a handful of black folk in a room at Bar Crawl back in ninety-something (DUH! It was my first time, I was young, etc.) and I witnessed a crowded room of a couple hundred drunks in Rumors sing "Cheesburger In Paradise".  AND.  THEY.  KNEW.  ALL.  THE.  WORDS.  That was one of the most unsettling things I ever witnessed in my life.  NOW I find it slightly funny.  At the time I was only 20/21, and it was some scary shit.

As far as Mr. Young, he is a genius & should be revered as so.  Keep on rockin' in the free world, Mankie, keep on rockin in the free world . . . .

For some reason, when I read your comment about your Buffet experience, the scene in Blazing Saddles were the black deputy comes out from behind the rock and shout's "Were all the white women at?" came to mind.    :D

BTW, if you're a Neil Young fan, the cd at Starbucks, Live at Massey Hall, is a must. The Bob Marley one was a bit disapointing though in my opinion.

I have a live CRYSTAL CLEAR copy of one Bob Marley's last concerts ever live @ Rockpalast from 1980 if you're looking for a killer Bob show.  I'm a peep that Neil Young show . . . Kinda like money, there's no suck thing as too much good music.

I'll be taking the VRE starting in July (been taking Metro because it's more convenient for my wife, but VRE will actually cut way down on my commute time). But from Springfield, I'll be on a different line and have a shorter ride than you. I do read on the train, but I still don't envy your hour and a half train ride.

Springfield is the same line as Fredericksburg and you are lucky because its only three stops away from L'Enfant, which is where I get off.  I should clarify, I said Fredericksburg, but I take the Leeland Road stop in Fredericksburg which at least isn't the last stop and probably saves me another ten minutes of commuting.  I think you'll like the VRE much more than Metro, alot more comfortable and they have quiet car sections so you dont have to hear other fools conversations.  Usually you have two knuckleheads on the other cars talking while everyone else is trying to relax.

I should clarify, I live in Springfield, but I live closer to both of the two Springfield stops (Rolling and Backlick Roads) on the Manassas line, as opposed to the Fredericksburg line Springfield stop (which is adjacent to the Metro stop).

Yes, I did take VRE some when we first moved to the burbs, and liked it a lot more. It's pricier though if you can't commit to a monthly pass. I'll probably still take Metro in months where I take vacation time.

Yes, I did take VRE some when we first moved to the burbs, and liked it a lot more. It's pricier though if you can't commit to a monthly pass. I'll probably still take Metro in months where I take vacation time.

Ok, I gotcha.  We have the Franconia stop on our route.  I do the monthly passes also, I spent the first few months doing the ten stop passes because it was just easier paying the 76 bucks as opposed to the larger monthly fee.  But that was just ridiculous because its about a sixty dollar savings doing it monthly.  It just hurts alot more shelling out that dough at one time.  But, even though its an hour and fifteen minute train ride, I wouldn't trade it having to live in the shoebox houses and out of your butt taxes that you get living close to the city.  I love it out there.
