 are you up on any of the local bands playing? i've heard the name singapore sling get thrown around in here.

They're only gonna send me over there for one night of the festival, saturday.  So I'll be going to Gakur a Stong or whatever that venue is called to see the Stills (obviously) but the good news is that Singapore Sling is on just before them and the Shins right afterwards.  Might trek over to see Gus Gus after all that since they are going onstage last at one of the other venues.  Disappointed that I won't be able to catch more of the festival, but still psyched to see Iceland and chill out at the nice Radisson Saga Reykjavik for free.  Can't wait to hit up the Blue lagoon as well.
