So excited to see the lineup (!)...and still trying to figure out how to get from M.I.A. to The Rapture to Silversun Pickups to Blonde Redhead all in the span of an hour...but also curious as to how to get in the loop for the afterparties? Suggestions?

Two I know of so far are STS9 at HOB on Friday (onsale 20 June), and Cafe Tacuba at Metro on Saturday (on sale now, a little expensive but worth it). Entrance to Metro also includes the Smart Bar downstairs that'll have DJ's til 5am.
Other "parties" not including Lolla artist will emerge in the next week or so.
Late night shows including Lolla artist are found on band myspace pages, forums, etc. just check out the bands you'd want to see in the lower tier of the line-ups that aren't on national tours or playing V Fest there's likely something going on.
The radio station will also being doing a show at the empty bottle on saturday night but haven't confirmed the artists. Last year was money with Sonic Youth and Feist, so I'm sure it'll be good.

Peter, Bjorn, and John are playing an after party show on Friday, venue TBD but I think it'll be with a couple of other Lolla artist, and relatively early (9pm) for a aftershow party. Think they're playing Baltimore next day before returning for their own Lolla set.

When does Lolla end each night? I can't imagine y'all are going to after parties after 12 hours of shows at Lolla. Whoa man. I'll be SLEEPIN'!

12 hours of shows? I don't think there are that many hours available each day, but even if there were that is a little too much time out in that shitty ass weather for me. I usually put in about 5-6 hours, then enjoy the evenings, it's the one thing that separates Lolla from most of the other multiple day fests in the US... the fact you have urban setting and can enjoy a lot more than merely what the festival has to offer.

Here's a link to 93xrt page with a lot of lolla information including links to get free tix for after party shows that aren't avail to general public, you'll see it mid page.

I was only off by an hour or so. Shows start at 11:15 and end at 10:00.
For me, throwing in after parties is a bit much (although it's essentially what I do at SxSW). I'll take a list, but doubt I'll get to any... Of course, that depends on how shitty the weather is.

I hear ya, the thing about lolla for me is that most shows are unbearable doing the day because of the weather so if you stick it out then you'll be finished for anything afterwards.
Inevitably the smaller bands I want to see are playing early, but at least you can go in/leave/ come back at your leisure. But since the smaller bands play early they're also likely to be doing shows at night as well which works for me because I'm basically a vampire, so I go see a couple of acts say from 5pm on and maybe a headliner if I like them but the after parties are what make this festival appealing at all because face it everyone playing here is playing somewhere else that we're likely to be so the line-up is kind of inconsequential, and for $60 can't really complain I'm missing anything, Daft Punk alone is worth what I'm paying for the entire festival so everything else is gravy.
SXSW is a different story, you end up putting in 20 hour day/nights and that's just a fact of life for 4 days a year. I'm going to be doing some SXSW style shuttling between venues on Saturday night as I'm going to see The Automatic, Juliette & The Licks, and Cafe Tacuba before some late nite DJ action fortunately they're located with 6th Street like proximity so hopefully it'll work out, then Sunday morning I'm Audi.

the automatic played a very short set tonight. 40 mins max. so take that into account when planning their show. im debating on seeing them again, and im pretty sure the keyboard player messed up his leg jumping off some ridiculously high speakers. the show was out of control, insanely wild tonight. one of the guys we were with nearly got tossed from the bowery and i was pretty sure security was so unhappy with us. hanging around a bunch of real drunk brits is always a way for a good time.
anyone know if war tapes has any after party shows there? id def see them again. and i <3 neil, so id gladly go see him again. wonder if his jeans could be any tighter :D

A short set is what I'm counting on, I have Juliette and the Licks a few blocks away at The Note, and I want to see her entire set as well. Last time I saw the Automatic was at Brixton Academy in February headlining the NME Indie Rock Tour and they played well over an hour so I guess it just depends.

Is this for sure? They still don't have info on re-entry on the website.

YES, it is for sure, the re-entry info the site is waiting to announce is for day ticket holders NOT for 3 day pass holders who will receive wristbands upon initial entry.

But better...Eddie's hometown...the likelihood of people like Ben Harper and Iggy Pop showing up...10c only.....should be insane.
-
Any plan for DC meetup at Fest?
Per usual, there's no one good time due to set sched. But perhaps if a good spot is deemed, then some degree of randomness of running into a DC'er would be minimized.
Near SL, audienceright, of comedy stage? (Mindfield maybe)

I'm hoping for something like that. I thought Kitchener was small. This is going to be too cool.
Wish I had an X ticket for you...

I got tix and I'll be there. Trying to figure out when to get in line (maybe 11 or 12?)

for the Vic show? if so...very nice.
i don't get into Chicago until 4ish that day.
and my tix partner doesn't get there until around 6. so i hope this wristband/line thing is manageable.
anyway it works out - i'll just be happy to be in the building.

I don't think the line at the Vic should be too bad, but who knows. I need to be there early if I want a poster though

OK, PJ hijack must end....
The RSVP on this is closed, but there are some rumblings that the "Special Guests" are going to be well worth the $15, I'm not going to pass on rumors, but boy I'd hate for you to read about on Saturday morning what I think is going to happen...I'd bring a camera too, you've been warned...

Well I read it last night from a blog that the people who RSVPed were in a huge line waiting for hours, while the people who pay were being let in! Then, some people who RSVPed were turned away because the venue reached capacity!!
I did the RSVP thing but didn't get anything in the email...

Dude that's not a horror story, and SF is notorious like NYC for that kind of thing happening.
RSVP is never a guarantee of entry, (hell not even the artist's personal guest list is a guarantee but far more solid than a public RSVP), but merely a guarantee you'll not have to pay if you do enter.
I think though that the bulk of the RSVP's will be ok, they cut it off at less than 850 which is only about 60% of the venue capacity and with so much shit going on this weekend, and the fact that the Dolphin is in BFE that you'll be fine.
But text me on my cell if you have any problems, and I can take care of you plus one. If you choose to go I think you'll be fine with the RSVP, but try to get there before 1am though.

The Sparklehorse afterparty tonight was good despite a lot of technical glitches and the fact they hadn't played together in a long time...but I was missing DC smoke free (and air conditioned! the Empty Bottle wasn't...) clubs...

Yeh, get used to the smoke, it's "banned" but nearly every club has an exemption.
Though the Dolphin room is a jazz club, it's dress code free tonight so your inner hipster can roam free.
