all I've got is a bouncy ball from devo in august. You?
-
A red Solo cup Ace Frehley (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/k/kiss/ace-frehley.shtml) threw into the crowd when I saw KISS on their first "it's all four of us again and we're sporting the make-up" reunion tour.
-
The set list from the last Joe Strummer show. Signed by Joe himself. With the extra encore song hand written by him along with " for MARK". With that there is a dollar bill that has been rasta'fied "for Lisa".
-
i've got A LOT, but probably my Joan Jett setlist. It still has all its duct tape, and little spots on it from sweat or water or something. That was a sweaty show.
-
I guess it depends on who you're talking to. I have a signed setlist from Noel Gallagher from the first Oasis show at the old 9:30 Club, some very cool Pixies guitar picks from Kim, Joey and Frank that have their names on them, a signed Stone Roses setlist with guitar picks...and then an assortment of backstage passes and laminates from folks like Henry Rollins, Bob Mould, the Boo Radleys/Manic Street Preachers, Weezer, the Goo Goo Dolls and Echo & the Bunnymen. I also have a bottle of Corona that Manny from the Stone Roses gave me to drink during the middle of the show that he signed. AH, the memories.
-
Kind of on the same topic...anyone have any autographs from dead rock stars? Here are mine:
Dennis Danell -- Social Distortion
Rob Collins -- Charlatans UK
Chris -- Lush
I thought I had more but can't remember offhand.

Holy shit....
Best I can do is a guitar pick that Pete Diggle reached over a guy to give to me specifically. And the Sloan poster Murph signed "To Nancy" in these 70s bubble letters....
-
Daves Motorhead shirt from the recent Foos 930 show! :)
Autographed guitar from sevendust.
-
INXS wristband that Michael Hutchence gave me during a show a month or so before he, ummm, had his accident and died.
Joe Strummer setlist, coolest so far.
How'd you get the Motorhead t-shirt from Grohl?
-
giant signed radiohead poster
2 cartel setlists

Not rock but I've got a book and CD signed by John Cage.
I had a Wonderstuff CD signed by the Bass Thing (quote "Kiss my ass") but I lost it years ago :(

Herpes from Carlos D.

I have a drum stick from the Hoodoo Gurus show at the old 9:30, and a beer bottle that Exene from X gave me to pass around (which I did, then got back again)at the old Ontario Theatre.
Also, at the old club, Dan Stuart from Green on Red got pissed at his bandmates for messing around on stage, handed me his guitar, and walked off.
Exene also handed me her baby to hold after a show, while she signed an autograph.
Sadly, both the guitar and baby were taken away pretty much immediately. I didn't even have time for a strum on the guitar or a "Choo-chee coo-chee coo" to the baby.
-
I've got every ticket stub to every show I've been too. I know that's not too coll but I like it. Other than that an autographed CD and Ticket stub by Dicky from the Bosstones.
-
the best i got was a guitar pick from the last time i saw all american rejects at the club and a signed speical edition american idiot CD signed by greenday
-
I have an air guitar played by Keanu Reeves that I horked at a DOGSTAR gig.

I have a concert poster signed by 4/5ths of DEVO and knowing my luck it's missing Alan...
-
Very used drumstick given to me by Sugar's drummer Malcolm Travis.
-
Bunch of autographs, bunch of setlists (coolest being Dinosaur Jr.'s from earlier this year), but nothing in particular seems awesome. I guess Jimmy Chamberlin's drumstick would win, if only because it clobbered my friend in the eye and I got it on the rebound.
-
<img src="http://www.stuckinthe70s.com/images/tb0774randypu.jpg" alt=" - " />
Well put. "Randy On", my good man, randy on...
-
the only thing i have is Bono's autograph on a post it note that i got when U2 were on the Pop Mart tour
-
A ticket to an Elvis Presley show on August 18th, 1977; unused obviously...
-
Who is Jimmy Chamberlin? He plays drums on the new Rhett Miller album.

I have a filterless Camel butt that Lemmy flicked at my head during a Motorhead gig at the Bayou.
-
I say this with complete love and affection, but this thread proves once and for all that y'all truly are dorks. :p
-
I'm not too much of a packrat or a memoribilia collector (music anyway), but I have a guitar strap from Conrad Keely (Trail of Dead) guitar strap and a set list from one of their shows, a signed Breeder's press photo signed by Kim & Kelly (with the setlist written on the back) and piece of David Yow's shirt from Lollapalooza 95 when they played the second stage during Hole's performance. It stinks to high heaven.

he was once trapped like a rat in a cage

One of my favorite promos I ever got was when I won a Sonic Youth contest in Chicago in 1992 and I got free tickets to their show, backstage passes, t-shirts, and a very cool Sonic Youth skateboard with the Dirty LP cover drawn onto it. I don't know how rare they are, but it was a really neat item. I should try to get the band to sign it next time they come around.

If it's the same guy, the Pumpkins drummer. Where did you hear this; I haven't heard anything about it.

that would be Matt Chamberlain

Sure, get all picky on us. Like drummers with the same last name aren't totally interchangeable.

Although, to be fair, Jimmy's last name was erroneously spelled that way on copies of Gish.

The only Punkins album I ever bought. Probably right after it came out, on cassette, and no doubt discarded into a trash bin sometime later after seeing their horrible live performance on the Chili Peppers/Punkins/Pearl Jam food tour.

When Rock N' Roll High School came out the Ramones did an in-store to promote it at Penguin Feather Records in Bailey's Crossroads (if anyone remembers these stores they were headshops as well - I remember wondering why the hell they sold scales in the record stores and what were all these tiny little spoons for???). Anyway, I've got a flyer advertising the in-store signed by the whole band.
And you know those numbers they use to post the price of gas on those marquee things at gas stations??? I've got one signed by Iggy. It's a big "0".
-
Mostly setlists and picks and a couple of back stage passes.
Coolest might be The Cult pass and picks from their first 9:30 appearance.
Sonic Youth setlists with the guitars for each song on them. I have a Goo CD box with all of SY's sigs on it. Lee's is really cool.
-
um...
some autographed Kristin Hersh stuff incl posters
some autographed Lloyd Cole stuff
had Joey, Kims and Daves autographs from the Pixies at some stage as well
my access all areas pass from Nirvana's 1991 Dublin gig...although its a generic pass so no-one could tell it was Nirvana
at one stage I had a Babes in Toyland setlist from a show at a tiny underground venue in Stuttgart that held about 50 people....probably lost now
quite a few concert posters....do they count as memorabilia?

i have a bunch of frank black signed crap from an olssons in store in his solo days if you want to trade ;)
-
my only really unique thing is a lyric sheet from REM's "nightswimming" that stipe threw into the crowd ... can you believe he needs lyric sheets to every fucking song they do?

I remember driving by the Penguin Feather in Vienna with my mom when i was little and seeing a bunch of mothers picketing outside with signs about how the store sold drug paraphernalia..and my mother explaining to me what drug paraphernalia was.
Now there is a vacuum repair shop there.

Man this thread just proves I never got any free stuff at shows.
the best I got was Nick Menza's drumstick from Megadeth.
Good lord, I have never seen a more beat up piece of lumber in my life.
-
My ticket stub from the Talking Heads Stop Making Sense tour stop at Merriweather, and my all-access pass from Metallica's Black Album tour (courtesy of a friend who was in the road crew).
All-access passes are the only way to see an arena show. :)
-
I have some other cool setlists too. Ones with the comments about the songs (Slant 6 and Superdrag), hand written, and just odd.
-
contract with U2 to play the Ontario Theater for $2500
-
The memory of making sweet love to Dido on her tourbus....no, wait, that was my dream last night.
I'm not one for memorabilia, or meeting the artist for that matter, although when the Beautiful South played Cork last winter Paul Heaton was at the stage entrance after the show and my wife got all giddy, which is so unlike her to be honest, so I went up and asked him to sign the ticket stub, which he most graciously did for us. That's my one and only item, which I've probably inadvertantly thrown out anyway.
But markie wins though, hands down.

Sorry 'bout that, she got them from me, after I go them from Juliette Lewis! ;)

You might as well have followed that up with a "Yo Momma" joke.

Bruce Springsteen's handwritten setlist from the Richmond show last week.
And the pick from when I got to play the lead guitarist from Washington Social Club's guitar during their August Black Cat show. That was pretty cool.

A Pogues t-shirt signed by all the Breeders' band members with a funny caricature of Shane MacGowan drawn by Kim Deal. Barcelona 1994.
Also, talking to Spider Stacy of the Pogues after a show at the Blackcat a few years ago.

i also have this really great poster from a Halloween show in Chicago with The Donnas that my friend and his fashion label ended up doing...there were only a few made.
it's too bad i don't have pictures of my outstanding guitar pick collection...
-
A bunch of stuff but probably the thing that I think is the coolest isn't necessarily what others would select.
A pair of cool shoes that I bought for $2 from a Shoegaze goddess. Guess only a true Shoegazer would appreciate that. lol. Oddly enough, Rachel* and I have since become friends and we even work together on the same radio station.
*Rachel Goldstar/Staggs from Experimental Aircraft, Eau Claire with Jessica Baliff, owner of Rollerderby Records, formerly of The Black Angles, and now currently in London finishing up an album with Monster Movie which is Christian Savil's (formerly of Slowdive) band.
-
well, to each his own, right? i mean some of my favorite concert things aren't exactly my favorites because they are things that i recieved from legendary musicians; they are my favorites because i have good stories behind them, and associate them with good memories.
-
Most definitely! I think that's partly what makes Rat Bastard's Dave Grohl t-shirt about the coolest thing listed on the thread even though I personally am not a fan of the music. At least in my opinion. There's such a great story with it.
-
Yeah...Will Sergeant from Echo & the Bunnymen once gave me his tie pin, which is actually the bunnyman off the "Rescue" single (I think). It's just a pin, but I still love the damn thing because it was such a nice gesture.
-
Not great but when I use to write for a fanzine in VA I did a lost w/end with Henry Rollins' Band. I ended up mentioning that he was dating or doting over some girl who looked like Amy Grant who was with him the entire 4 days. He got a hold of the mag and sent me a letter on like Marriott letterhead not finding the amusement in me printing that, even though it was like 2 sentences...I framed it :) .
-
Bottle of wine that Eddie Vedder gave me in San Bernadino.
-
GG Allin wrote a letter to me and my friend once. I should check with my friend to see if he still has it. Very scary.

I have a Miller lite bottle Bob Pollard drank at a Black Cat show.
It looks like any other bottle of Miller lite. Maybe I need to make a tag for it.
-
I have a picture of me passing Springsteen forward as he crowd surfs back to the stage. The picture was taken by Obama's photographer, Peter Souza. I saw the picture on instagram, contacted him, and he sent me a copy.
