While I love "What are you listening to now," I thought a thread just on new stuff would be cool.
 
 I'm just on the first track now, but you can listen to the whole new Strokes album at  MTV.com (http://www.mtv.com/music/the_leak/the_strokes/room_on_fire/index.jhtml)
 
 So whaddya think?

It doesn't really change my opinion about The Strokes, which was pretty negative anyways.

I'm not a big fan either -- don't even have the big debut album.  But thought it's of interest to hear and either go out and buy or give you the reason not to....

I think it will out sell the first one becuase of their popularity, but it's a typical sophomore follow-up.
 
 Only a couple of new songs played well live and it didn't sound too much different than the first.

Yeah sounds like and outtakes and b-sides companion to the debut.  More of the same, just not as good.

I got ahold of it a couple months ago and only listened to it once. Sounds to me like a remix of the song on their first album that was repeated over and over again under different names.
 
 I have no doubt that it will sell well...because the NME and MTV tells us so.    :roll:

He sort of looks like a Punk Louie Prima. Now that I think of it, that could be a cool combination, if done right.
