Title: empty office. entertainment needed.
Post by: jkeisenh on October 25, 2004, 09:30:00 am
so, i think most folks know i'm a lefty that works for a lefty organization.  my organization sent just about everyone to swing states to work on the election.  some of us were left back here till this friday to "hold down the fort."

ok, when all but like 6 of your staff are gone, there's really not all that much of a fort to be held down.

so i'm sitting here, alone in a floor of empty cubes and offices in a building that usually has hundreds and now has barely dozens.  i think i'll explore online chat and other entertainment options.  (i also brought my knitting with today).

i'm taking nominations for time wasters and the like.  they must be non-pornographic and must not take up too much bandwith, lest i should get caught.

if you are interested in what an ex-pat with kids is doing in paris then checkout my sister in-law's blog at parisdaily.hi-fipop.com

and for the knitter in you there is a whole knitting  blogging community... my sister in-law sister also living in france has a blog at louknits.prettyposies.com/

:p  to you for that.

I was knitting on Metro a while ago and actually had someone ask if i was pregnant.  that hardly suggests that it's becoming popular.

don't ask me what might happen.

but i haven't done a decent trackstand yet.  though i'm getting close.  i'm still trying to master riding down the parking garage ramp without brakes and under control.  that's a toughie.

In that case, just hide in a secluded cubicle and rub one out.

gosh, thanks y'all for all your great (and loathsome) recommendations.  I have today and tomorrow to go, and am enjoying the exploding head game and reading all of the Gawker-related blogs.  and the new onion.  and looking forward to tomorrow's city paper.

that, and i've been waiting 6 weeks for my black spot sneakers to come.  so every time the squeaky mailroom cart lumbers past my ears perk up, hoping for hempy shoegoodness.  but no luck yet.
