no mention (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/omm/the10/story/0,11109,1280949,00.html) of Bebel Gilberto, but nice to see my old friend Cathal Coughlan getting a mention

Surprised the Who's Cincinatti disaster didn't make the list.
-
probably because the cincinatti disaster didn't happen on the stage. although they could've mentioned the show in san francisco when keith moon passed out and they had to recruit someone from the audience to play..

Is that a disaster though?
I mean when Seth stepped in to play drums in the pile of vomit Robbie Williams drummer had left behind, it was more entertaing than anything else.

I can't believe they didn't mention Scott Stapp. His on stage disaster in Chicago in December 2002 should have put his place on the list.
-
the metallica thing where the lead singer got burned by pyrotechnics and guns and roses didn't go on afterward should have made this...there was major rioting after that one.
-
What about when Great White played at that nightclub in Rhode Island where pyrotechnics caused that fire and several people were killed/injured?
That has to be on par with one of the worst stage disasters EVER.
Cheers
DJ Medusa.

Yeah. I ran into a brainfart, and didn't even think about that one.

That is the most tragic and heartbreaking stage disaster, if it qualifies (didn't read the article). And it was either 99 or 100 people that died, all out for a good night with some (to them) great, fun rock'n'roll.

what about curtis mayfield, didn't he fall off a stage and get paralyzed? or the l7 singer throwing a tampon she was currently using into the crowd, or earlier marilyn manson nuts on securit guard heads? those could make the list
-
The Beat Farmers drummer, Country Dick Montana, died onstage in the middle of a show somewhere in Canada. I'd call that a pretty big disaster.

<what about curtis mayfield, didn't he fall off a stage and get paralyzed?>
As I understand it a ground supported lighting truss fell & struck Curtis, leaving him paralized from the neck down. Sadly it would have to be pretty much near the top of this list IMHO

its seems like a lot of GnR concerts end in riots...

I think Patti Smith fell off stage once and was hurt very badly.
