oh mighty gang, seeing how i rarely drive, i don't know the best way to merriweather for radiohead next week? i-95? beltway? 495? i'd be headed up from montgomery county, bethesda/rockville area. i've only driven up once there before but it was for a show that wasn't sold out so the traffic wasn't all that bad. what are you suggestions? and if you don't want to share your secret directions with the whole world, just email them to me please and i'll promise not to divulge the info!

take 29 off of the capital beltway all the way to columbia

Are concertgoers still allowed to park at Columbia mall? Even though it's a little more walking, I've always found that to be the best option once you're there.

Well I park at my parents and walk.
But I would not go up 29, that will be a parking lot all the way, often backs up past rte. 32 (several miles away) well before show time. I would recommend 95 north (assuming you are coming from DC), to rte. 175 west. This will continue across rte. 29 and then you can either park at the mall (you can't miss it on the right) or continue further for the left turn for the parking at Merriweather by the library. This works better because most people take the rte. 32/29 direction and so you can bypass all these folks.

here's the route i took to merriweather for neil young and it planned out
take 95N to Route 175, one exit past 32
take 175 west to route 29
take route 29 south
there is an exit from 29 south directly into the parking lot
it's a bit of doubling back but you may encounter less traffic on south 29. route 175 was slow due to traffic lights but its not gridlock.
