GRRRRR!

I am guessing since the poster before me got the tickets, the actual state of affairs is middle option. Which, of course, now means that *I* have other issues, namely how to get my zombie on!

"The ticketing system currently indicates that no seats are available for this performance. This performance may not yet be onsale, may be sold-out or have other issues. Please try at a later time or contact customer service.

good luck getting them when they go on-sale to the general public.  you might as well start looking for other ways to get a ticket and get ready to be ripped off as far as price goes.  i'm just glad i've already seen him a bunch of times and if i miss this one....no big deal.

There were only a limited number of tickets available for the pre-sale this morning. That is why you got the message you did, all the seats had already been locked.

It already says on ebay that the show is sold out!!!  So much for getting tickets tomorrow.  the big question is how does a show sell out before it goes on sale?

Thanks eBay!

Well, the buy-it-now pricing varies between $199 and $299.

Nittanylionking

First off, I wouldn't be so quick to take the word of a scum sucking scalper to be the gospel truth.

Secondly, the presale is sold out, so they can *technically* say the show is sold out as in "all tickets formerly available to this event have been sold, there are currently no available tickets so this event has sold out"

That being said, I will try my goshdarndest on Thursday to get my tix. And no, as much as I want to see this show, there is no way in the world I am going to put money in the pockets of those jerks.

Dang, I hate when my principles get in the way of a great show. Of course, that doesn't mean I love Rob Zombie any less. It just means I hate scalpers more.

uh the presale is soldout... imho shows like this need a one ticket per order limit that what x number of people get a shot at tickets vs x/4 or x/2 could cut down on ticket brokering as well.  of course people will complain that can't get tickets for thier buddies/spouses etc... oh well

I propose a one ticket limit AND an essay contest for presale.

It would weed out the ticket investors.  ;)

I adamantly oppose a x1 ticket limit...I don't want to go to a show alone, and if a show is going to be that tight, it's likely I can't get a ticket for a friend in the general sale.  No way, though I could sell my one ticket for mega bucks, I suppose...

i didn't say it was the perfect solution, any only to be used for presales involving once platinum selling artists.  it justs levels the playing field for those precious few tickets.

a 4 ticket limit sounds like a better chance at me getting 2 tickets tomorrow morning

And this is why it's hard to come up with a "fair" ticketing policy: there are so many different opinions.  What's fair to one person, may not be fair or a good idea to someone else.

I don't know if this is feasible for 9:30, but at other shows I've been to, like when I went down to Richmond to see Bruce Springsteen, you had to go pick up the tickets (this just applied for floor seats I think,) in person, with ID, credit card, confirmation # etc, they watch you put the wristband on and send you straight into the venue, with absolutely no chance for ticket turn around.

I didn't go to the Foo Fighters show, but didn't something happen like this?  While it can end up sucking for people who can't go and can't resell their ticket, it does put a cap on the scalpers for hot ticket shows like this one.

At the Foo show you had to wait in line with your receipt, id, and cc.  A few minutes before the doors opened, they came down the line, handed out tickets and arm banded everyone.  You had to have the ticket and an arm band that didnt even look like it was tampered with to get in.  It was a great time.  My friend Kim still has daves shirt.

This is the perfect example of why you should never run to ebay as soon as a presale sells out.

Sometimes you get a situation where a credit card is declined and those tickets get kicked back into the system as available. If you were able to get lucky that long after the show was sold out then congrats, but it is sold out. I just tried myself to see if I could purchase 1 tickets and there were none available.

at least I got lucky today - I went in at 10 AM & kept hitting reload til they went on sale - even then I kept getting a "temporarily unavailable due to the high number of transactions" message but within about 2 minutes I was able to get mine - they must have sold out fast tho!

Anybody else remember White Zombie at the old 9:30 club??  Caught them doing 2 shows in early 93, damn that brings back great memories!

A little hint to all...don't give up at 10:01 or whatever. I've had many experiences of a show selling this fast, then checking later on in the day and successfully getting tickets. Like has been said, cards get declined, addresses entered wrong, whatever. It's no garuntee, but it has worked in the past.

Hey, I have a questions for you.  Who are Panic! At the Disco and why do so many teenage girls know all the words to their songs?

well, i dont like them but they are a poppy/emo band that dress nice.  there songs are like falloutboys but not as bad.  very catchy, but it makes me want to take a hole punch to my nuts.

all the "cool" people liked them and their myspace names were "____ at the disco"  i think thats how they got popular. and now they are the new fall out boy.

Another reason you can get tickets later:  when a ticketing sale starts a lot of people have multiple windows open and multiple tickets in multiple "shopping carts", even though they may only want, say, 2. The tickets have been taken from inventory and are sitting in the shopping cart even though the person is not intending to purchase all of them (or can't, because the system is getting hit hard).

All ticketing systems have an automatic function where after "X" number of minutes (maybe 10, maybe 15), if the transaction is not complete, the tickets will be returned to inventory for sale.

So, it takes the computer system those 10 or 15 minutes to go through and empty all those shopping carts that are holding tickets but not completing the transaction.
