Waterboys at the State Theatre is on the same night as Bowie at the Patriot Center!.....the only two really good shows come to this town this year and they're both on the same bloody night!
-
Maybe the first Waterboys show will sell out really fast and they'll announce a second "late-show" for the same night.....
-
Yeah, thereby splitting up the two "sets" they would have played, and doing two "shows" instead.
-
Still won't make it because Bowie always puts on a FULL SHOW!
And I doubt Mike Scott would give his fans the shaft like some other Scottish git evidently does!
-
Go see The Waterboys in Annapolis at The Ram's Head Tavern.
-

I sincerely apologize for my age, rhett, because obviously it offends you. I wish to god I was just one number higher so that you would be less offended by my presence. I am so sorry that I am a teenager and it's all my fault. how dare I? it's so rude of me. the way I am as a genuinely nice person who says the occasional thing to get a laugh ot of people is so much more offensive than your genuine dislike of everyone different from you.
I just don't know what's wrong with me, I'm so awful and childish.
Don't feel bad Samantha...for what it's worth, you and my vivid imagination make my morning showers a lot of fun!!! [/b]

Does it mean you can no longer enter the celestial kingdom? You have been forever damned to the telestial middle-earth.

p.p.s. I got my Bowie tic's the day they went on sale.
If I see a short girl with big tits with an older man who's dressed in jacket and tie with name badge on his lapel and a backack over his shoulder, and they're riding a bicycle to the show, I'll say hello Samantha!

I'd choose the Waterboys. David Bowie plays here quite frequently (or I think so). Also, the State Theater is a small venue compared to the 9:30 so it should be pretty full, hopefully raising his motivation to play a long set. To see the 9:30 so empty two years ago was pretty depressing.

The one thing that disapointed me last time about the Waterboys at 930 was the line-up. I'm used to seeing a whole bunch of scruffy knackers on stage, instead we got Mike Scott, Stever Wickham on fiddle and then three others. That's about 5 members short from what I'm used to.
I have to say, the best Waterboys show I ever saw was at DAR years ago.
Bowie doesn't play here often at all. I have my tickets for Bowie already or I admit, it would be a tough choice for me...my wife still prefers going to Bowie though because she's never seen him live.

When was that? Was Anthony Thistlethwaite playing with them? Was the place crowded?

Well I saw 'em at the freakin' Bayou back in '85 :D  . Not only was Thistlethwaite there but Karl Wallinger was even still in the band. Yeah, it was good. Even spotted Tommy Keene and Ted Nicely there.
Saw them a few years later at Lisner on the "Room to Roam" tour. Different band and sound; mixed bag. Mike Scott has kind of meandered since but fortunately he pretty much abandoned the sound of that "Dream Harder" disaster from '93.

"The shows will feature Mike Scott (guitar/vocals), Steve Wickham (fiddle) and Richard Naiff (piano)."
Just saw this regarding the US shows. Not sure, I'll have to get the new cd.
