If we're going to the back of the racks, do you want a copy of The Professionals (Steve Jones & Paul Cook's post-Pistols band) "Didn't See It Coming"?

I'd say there is a vast difference between me making one copy of one CD to give to my good friend Anton and making several hundred files available to 4,873,456 others.

well, as some people here said (many MANY times) it doesn't matter.. stealing is stealing. i'll just go to the store and steal some really nice pieces of jewelry, but only my best friend can borrow it. it's not like i'll let anyone else use it.......

Not the same thing Paige, more like if you went and bought jewelry, lent it to a friend, and if the friend liked it, they would buy something similar.

Not a good analogy as its not illegal. Wheras giving friends copys of music you dont have the copyright to is illegal. Same as software. But they did these analogies to death before.

The crucial diference is there is no record of giving a copy to a friend. Therefore the crime is unpunishable.

alright, alright.. i should just keep my mouth shut. that other thread went on for pages, and i was just being annoying while trying to make my point (which stands as - don't bitch about people downloading illegally and then offer upfront more than once to make copies of cd's for your friends. pick a side. run with it.)

missing the point again Paige, GGW said his problem was with people trying to rationalize downloading as not illegal

 ROCK N' RYAN

RYAN ADAMS has completed work on his new album, which is tentatively titled 'ROCK Nâ?? ROLL'.

Ryan has been working on his new album, the full follow-up to 2001â??s â??Goldâ??, for most of the year.

Now, a posting on his official website, ryan-adams.com, reveals that the record is complete, and has been given a November release date.

An earlier album, â??Love Is Hellâ??, had been expected in early spring 2003. It has now been spiked, with no explanation given. Rumours abound that his label, Lost Highway, rejected it because it was too dark.

Leaves - Breathe

 September 23rd.

You can download the song Crazy (http://download.nullsoft.com/pub/music/Leaves-Crazy_9_0001.wma) from this site. It will give you a license and will only be good for 30 days. It's a pretty good album so it's worth a listen.

I don't feel like going over to the 'just announced' thread but they are doing a US mini tour in Sept.. Not worth it anyway because the closest they are getting to the area is NYC. Markie, hate to tell you this, but they are opening for The Stereophonics. I have no idea if the Sept. dates are only the dates they are doing with The Stereophonics or if the Phonics tour is more inclusive than that. I never bothered to check.

My mistake Jadetree.  I'm not a fan of their music, but the NME reviewed it a couple of weeks ago.  I thought it was going to be released this past week but I just saw in the latest NME that it doesn't come out until Sept.

The new Cooper Temple Clause cd was reviewed this week.  I guess that comes out this Monday?
