thank you. i thought since it wasn't a show at nine thirty, that i should post it here. then i thought it was erased because i used "naughty" language with my nine inch remark. oh those nine inchers.
-
it's a I.M.P. show so it's kosher
-
From the QOTSA site:
DOORS- 5:30 PM
AUTOLUX/DFA 1979- 7:00 PM
QOTSA- 7:50 PM
NIN- 9:20-11:05 PM
It looks like QOTSA will play roughly an hour, which would be great. I'd rather see them play more, but for being an opener, that's not a bad allotment of time.

I'm pretty sure I won't be there for the Queen band, they didn't impress me much the first and last time I saw them. I know that's a miniority view though.
-
Damn right...Queens are the reason why I'm going tomorrow. I saw NIN at Coachella and was very underwhelmed. I'll stick around to see them, not sure how long I'll last though. I like them just fine too...maybe it will be a better show.

are there any '9 Inch Penises' knock-off --er, um bad choice of words -- cover bands?
oh i dont kno, like, perhaps, the "6 1/2 inch nails"?
i guess that'd be the modest band, that gets the job done without too many complaints and is quite satisfying.
just curious.
-
So...anyone going to the show tonight? I've got a GA ticket for the Floor, can't wait to hear QOTSA play "I Think I Lost My Headache" and "Song For the Deaf". Should be a rockin' good time.

It could be a 9 piece band with small members! (get it?? Small members!!)

I'll be there. I have floor tickets. Can't wait!
But I heard QOTSA kinda suck live so far as openeners. This info has came from fans who have attended the shows and various music mags/papers giving reviews of the gigs. I know they sucked when I saw them last time live. So I ain't making it there till Mr. Reznor hits the stage.
-
It sounds like NIN fans are saying that QOTSA sucks judging from the bulletin boards...probably not a tremendous amount of overlap in fan base. Personally, I think QOTSA are incredible live, but I wouldn't expect NIN fans to be that into them. Hopefully there won't be a ton of folks crowded up at the front so I can get up there for QOTSA.

Don't say "sucks", say Orally Copulates.
-
Will be there, on the floor, hopefully toward the front.
I saw Queens at MCI Center a few years back during some HFS thing, and I thought they stole the show. They put on a blistering live set; I'm really excited to see them again.
-
I'm idly curious as to how many people will be at this show tonight.....are NIN still a MCI center 'level' band?
-
i'll be on the floor. i wanna meet and greet. if you see the weirdo with the beck shirt on, walkonby and say 'zup. actually, don't say 'zup . . . hello will do fine.
-
I'll be in the Social D jacket and Germs shirt. Can't wait to get the hell out of work. See ya there!
By the way, how are DFA 1979? Worth checking out?

I would say yes.

cool...good to know. All the more reason to leave work.
-
All I have is "Blood on Our Hands", which I like - is the rest of the album good?

Those who go, please come back and report on the show. I really wanted to see NIN but just couldn't scrape up the money. Oh, well. At least I have seen them in the past. Have a good time!

It's all cut from the same cloth -- If you like one tune, you'll probably dig them all.

For being at the MCI Center, I was surprised actually that I was able to get a GA ticket for face value and no service charge. It's not cheap, but compared to shows like Depeche Mode it's actually justifiable if you have the cash. I'm sure it will be a better value than the Devo show. At least the visuals will probably work, and Queens of the Stone Age (the opener, mind you) will play for an hour. Devo barely played 65 minutes.
