sh*t, I'm out of town, but I'll try to send a crew there. I was all a-fluster as to how I was going to get the word out for tonight! ;)
-
i hope some of you can make it out for a good time at TRANSMISSION. lots of cool folks, good music, cheap drinks and most importantly, it's
F-R-E-E!
if you can't make it out this friday, we're there every friday same time, same place. also, PARANOIA next thursday at the asylum. PARANOIA is a night of punk, metal and hardcore. cheap beer, good food and lots of rock. also free as a bird...

That's the real killer!
And before you say it Chimbly, I live 60 miles away and there is no public transportation available for me.

aha! thanks for the preemptive strike. Might i recommend parking in Woodley and walking over? or perhaps parking at a metro station farther out?
(i live four blocks away. allow me to strongly endorse the tasty tasty vegan brunch at asylum. and the vegan grilled cheese. mmm-mmm.)

Samantha, I can't wait to see what you have to say about all this when you turn 21. There's a reason why a movement to lower the drinking age has never gotten off the ground... it's because by the time you've gotten something together, you're 21, and you couldn't care less anymore.
and elitist? no. exclusive? maybe. ageist? that's more like it.

Thanks to Stereofaith for having me guest DJ at Asylum on Friday. Due to it being the 13th Anniversary party for the club, a couple bands caused less time to spin records.
Godfathers - Birth, School, Work, Death
Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth
Inspiral Carpets - This Is How It Feels
The Lords - Like A Virgin
Love and Rockets - Ball of Confusion
MOEV - Yeah Whatever
Alphaville - Big In Japan
Yazoo - State Farm
OMD - Locomotion
Heaven 17 - Temptation
Big Country - Fields of FIre
Stone Roses - Elephant Stone
Smiths - Ask
New Order - Thieves Like Us
Fun Boy Three - Our Lips Our Sealed
I like doing vinyl sets because it allows me to dig through the crates for those forgotten classics.

Agreed. Asylum is never that crowded for brunch, at least when I go. It's also a much better deal than The Diner. French Toast for 4 bucks. Can't beat that, unless you make it yourself. Be sure and dig the Valhalla theme on the wall.

As a vegatarian who grew up on a dairy farm, let me say that a vegan brunch sounds totally untasty. Long live dairy products. How could anyone live without real cheese? Uggh.
-
Let me state that I was just agreeing that Asylum is worth going to for Brunch! I'm no vegan and wouldn't go near vegan cheese. Cheese is a weakness of mine. I love that stuff.

This could have easily been one of our mix-tapes in college. Nice.

Man, NKOTBIE made me almost the exact same mix one year in college.

We all lived it at some time...and in St Pete, Fla, there were NO cool places for 18+. Fake I.D., that's all I could do....
Love the setlist, Kosmo. Hope you get a chance to spin again soon.
