The O.C. Lands Modest Mouse, the Killers, and the Walkmen
by Gur Rashal | 08.20.2004
The hottest trends in television and music are coming together as Modest Mouse, the Killers, and the Walkmen have all signed on to appear in episodes of the second season of the popular TV hit, The O.C.. Both the Killers and the Walkmen have already finished filming their appearances, with the Walkmen performing ??Little House of Savages? and ??What's in It for Me? from their latest LP, Bows + Arrows.
The show has featured backdrop songs from bands such as Franz Ferdinand and Interpol in past episodes, in addition to a high profile appearance by Los Angeles rockers Rooney.

I don't mind when a popular tv show uses an indie band's song in the soundtrack. That's fine and if I was in an up-and-coming band, I would definitely consider allowing a tv show to use my stuff, but to actually appear on the show?! Kinda lame, I have to admit...for shame, Walkmen and Modest Mouse. I don't really respect the Killers as of yet so that doesn't surprise me...they seem to want to be famous in a really bad way.

Woohoo!! As if the storylines weren't enough, I don't have to put up with Rooney this season! This could be the best season of The OC yet. Wait, it's only the second season....
I'm all for bands I like being on shows I like. I sometimes watch shows I don't like just to see the band perform (see: Jay Leno). What's the big deal?
