Arlington Independent Media Presents the Premiere of "Operation Ceasefire" at the Arlington Cinema N' Drafthouse
Screening to benefit United for Peace and Justice
Arlington Independent Media is premiering the feature-length documentary "Operation Ceasefire" at the Arlington Cinema N' Drafthouse November 8, 2005. The video documents the "Operation Ceasefire" anti-war concert and protest held on the National Mall on September 24, 2005. Featured musical performers include Thievery Corporation, Joan Baez, Steve Earle, Bouncing Souls, Le Tigre, The Evens, Ted Leo + Pharmacists, Wayne Kramer and the Bellrays, Living Things, Head Roc, The Coup, and others. The documentary also includes interviews with and speeches by Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rep. Lynn Woolsey, Rep. Maxine Waters, Co-Founder of Gold Star Families for Peace Cindy Sheehan, Washington Wizard Forward Etan Thomas, Former State Department Officer Ann Wright, National Radio Commentator Jim Hightower, Investigative Journalist Greg Palast, and others. The screening will be a benefit for the non-profit United for Peace and Justice, one of the co-sponsors of the September event.
The documentary will be shown Tuesday, November 8; doors open at 6:30pm and showtime is at 7:30pm.
Arlington Independent Media (AIM), formerly Arlington Community Television, is a non-profit membership organization providing the community with television production training workshops, professional production facilities, and Channel 69, the Arlington County, Virginia public access cable television channel.
The Arlington Cinema N' Drafthouse is a movie theater in Arlington, VA that plays top box office movies served with Beer, Wine, Food, and Table Side Service. The Arlington Cinema N' Drafthouse has installed a brand new digital projector that fills the screen.
