I think we both enjoy music and we are both on this damn forum AND we both enjoy making our point, and putting our 2 cents in on virtually every thread.

since we know nothing else about each other, thats all i can be sure of, but maybe we are more alike than you think! or less?
do you really care? i know i dont.
perhaps the other thing we have in common is trying to invalidate what people say by tellling them that they dont know anything about us. or wait, i dont do that.

well it looks like i have nothing in common with any of you...........
i f@ckin' hate the streets.............
innit, apple and pear. geezer...............yuk!!!!

It is FINE that you like the Streets, i was just surprised, cause they seem kinda MTVready and judging fromt he comments you leave on this forum, thats not your bag. Do you get it now???
quote:
Originally posted by sonickteam2:
MTVready

What does that mean?
I like popular acts too, just not popular American acts. MTVready is a term i use simply to describe just that. You know when you hear a band/act and you just KNOW (or believe) that they will soon be all over MTV, TRL, HFS, etc. Bands like The Streets whose very catchy music, hip to the teen scene, and marketing value (how novel is a white rapper with a british accent!) are just destined to have heavy exposure on MTV and the like. Nothing wrong with that, but a lot of people purposely steer clear of that, most of my friends included.
For instance, the first night i saw "My Name Is" on MTV2 at 4am , i said "here comes Eminem".
and here he is..........
-
I haven't seen The Streets played on MTV much? He seems to fit more into MTV2's format, although I wouldn't know for sure since I do not have that channel.

I think he is much more likely to be a one-hit wonder. The stuff grows old fairly quickly and is too close to being a novelty act......

White guys rapping make me sicker than cigar smoke does.

Most rap fans don't have the attention span or allegiance to stick with one artist for more than one album.

oh i knew he would be huge, but not for this long!!! jeez , i never thought he would make another album
i overestimated Americans again.........
