Okay, if this is really their last show (and actually, regardless, because they're deeming it such), is it likely the Dismemberment Plan show at 9:30 Club this Monday will sell out? I have no concept; 9:30's a big place, but DP is certainly beloved in this city.
Advice?

100% guaranteed it will sell out. At blackcat there were lots of people looking for tickets.

C'mon, I think it's pretty obvious.

why were people at the black cat looking for tickets? You mean there was a lot of buzz?
I hear you. I'll get tickets tomorrow.
Next question, what do y'all know about beauty pill and aquarium?

No, Sorry, I didnt make it clear.
the last, last, D-plan club show was at the blackcat. It sold out and there were what seemed like hundreds of people trying to buy tickets.

Ah, ah, I get it. Done deal. It's obvious I'll be able to get rid of any extras I may pick up.
Just out of curiousity, what's the capacity of Black Cat, and the 9:30??

1200 vs 500. But sometimes that 500 seems like a lot more if you know what I mean.

Very cool link, Markie. The descriptions of the local clubs are funny.

Yeah, but there are national acts that come through there, and they don't sell out! Actually, I can't imagine it with 65 people in it. Oy.

BJM and to a slightly lesser extent the tyde were reasonably well packed.
I really meant financially..... 65 x say $6 . Plus, apparently the velvet lounge takes the first $60 of the door takings.......
So if there are three bands at a sold out show, you better hope to sell some CDs and t's or you are going to have to live on $10 a day.

Man, can you imagine? I feel good now that I so often buy a cd. Even offered to buy a guy from the Deathray Davies a drink last night, but I think they were getting right out on the road for Richmond.

I don't know Aquarium, but Beauty Pill is good --NME told me so.

If you like a band that play there that seems like a nice thing to do. Looking back I should have bought more CDs. But I dont want to buy a CD more often than I get some loving or else Rhett will think I am sad.

Eh, what the hell. I'm single so if i thought that way, I'd just have to be a slut. And I did that in my 20s. ;)
ggw -- listened to beauty pill. Not all that enthralled. But with the show selling out, I may have to sit/stand through it.

Beauty Pill are good, and not because NME said so, because they are ex-Smart Went Crazy, and have a similar sound, well kind of similar. Aquarium was the band that played in the rain at the D Plans rain show and features the woman who often takes tickets at the Black Cat.

Is she the one with only one hand? Or is it a Def Leppard tribute band?

i believe her name is Laura... i only know that because of a friend of mine who is friends with her. she is in that two piece band that played with D-Plan the night of the torrential rainstorm at Ft. Reno.
