Greetings Cartelites~
Just a gentle reminder that we'll be playing @ the Velvet Lounge this Saturday February 12th. We've been writing some great new tunes so if you haven't seen us in a while it's a great time to come by.
Palomar from NYC will take the stage at 10. We go after them and Outland closes the night.
See you all there!!!

We used to hide them in people's offices, desks, cabinets, closets - wherever. They'd sometimes turn up months later.

Scientists: Soft, chewy Peeps nearly indestructible
ATLANTA (CNN) -- Inspired by a sugar rush after consuming several of the ubiquitous Easter confections known as Peeps, Emory University scientists James Zimring and Gary Falcon decided to try to find out just what it was they were eating.
Using everything this side of a nuclear device, these intrepid scientists conducted experiments to discover just what would dissolve a Peep. As CNN's Ann Kellan reports, what they found was that these are some of the sturdiest birds not found in creation.

Neither smoking, a dip in liqiud nitrogen, nor boiling water seem to harm the sturdy birds

Fico: You are a classy guy: I am gently reminded, and will gently be there! Since I like your tastes in music; I'm looking forward to a great show!
BTW: Ask the bouncer/door dood to NOT charge me extra this time, just because I am from Virginia and look like I can't count! (Seriously, this happened once when I went to see Honeychuck: Door dood charged me $8. on a $5. fee??!! - which I didn't discover until the next day after wondering aloud to a band member WHY I paid $8.00 and the band plays for almost NO pay??!!!) Ahhhh, the mystique of the VL!

Oy..seems like I better be on my best behaviour so as not to shatter my classy guy image :p
Didn't know such things ocurred with the Velvet..then again, I very rarely frequent it. That said, if I'm not mistaken the Velvet has been the only venue in DC so far where each band gets the amount of people they bring at the door instead of splitting it amongst the bands on the bill. It sucks when other bands don't bother to bring people to their shows and piggyback of other bands who go through the trouble of flyering, calling people up etc...and believe me, we've had bands with 4 or 5 members bring in just 3 or 4 people..
anywho..we've been writing massively as of late so Saturday should be fookin epic!
See ya there!

See you lot tomorrow...Chemtrails and evil clouds permitting...

Loved the show too...you should have been headlining the 930 last night. You packed 'em in! Thanks for the great music!

I checked out the show too- very packed in. Well done to Cartel and all the bands for that matter.
Good show by Cartel- My first time to Velvet in a year or so. Good show by all bands, but Cartel was the reason I went, and I was glad to see them. Sonic stuff for a local outfit.

Yes, top notch all around Cartel...very enjoyable night.
