so i remember back in the day that pearl jam was king of shit hill, they won for best video, and quit making videos. they had beef with ticketmaster, so they sat up their own ticket outlet. is this the 1st time that pearl jam has gone through ticketmaster since then?
-
they never really set a ticket outlet for the general public, just sold to the fan club members. they did one tour where they did play non ticketmaster venues in 96(?), but since then it's been any venue be i ticketmaster or otherwise.

i make that mistake ALL the time ... sometimes i go to the door of a club with the band's CD as a ticket, and they just let me in anyway, you should try it

As I think I shared once before, I often write the event name in squeeze cheese on a cracker and try to use it as a ticket, because what member of the door staph can refuse a cheese cracker? And if by some cosmic joke they do, well, I just consider it my ticket to deliciousness and go on my merry way.

I have never heard someone laugh so much (lol), sometimes 3, 4 times in a sentence. Initially, I thought you were still drunk when you were writing your stool postings...Then I thought you were mistaking "lol" for some sort of grammatical punctuation.

Anyone heard that the Foo Fighters might open this show?

First leg opener is My Morning Jacket. Confirmed.

$257 for four tickets, including $41 in fees! Way to stick it to the man, Eddie Vedder!
Not to mention the only thing available as soon as they went on sale were 400 level seats.
Oh well, I always said I'd have to see them before I died, and here's the chance I guess...
-
Eddie Vedder has no control over Ticketmaster fees. What an ignorant comment. (Indeed, they were the first major act to ever try to fight them.)
$210 or so for four seats, before the fees, at a big arena show is quite reasonable. They play intense, 2+ hour shows every night with varied setlists.
And the reason the tickets were limited today is Pearl Jam has a large, thriving fan club that gets first shot at the best tickets.
-
a fan club that buys out every single floor seat and most of the 100 level and club level?
-
Possibly. There are 50,000 members, many of whom are in the East Coast. They sell them by the pair.
Why, what's your theory? Eddie Vedder hoarding them for his favorite DC lobbyists? And isn't it possible that 100 or 300 people got in before you, even if you got in right after 10 am? That would be anywhere from 200 to 1000 extra floor seats sold right there.
-
Yup, that's what a fan club is supposed to do. As a member, you pay a fee for certain benefits, one of which is advance ticket sales. Why shouldn't the members get the best tickets? It's also a way of keeping the scalpers away from the best tickets.
And PJ's fan club is the least expensive of any I've ever seen.
Good for them, they do it the right way and reward those who pay a little extra to join the fan club.
