so two come to my mind... two bands I missed back in the day but then ended up getting into:
1. Hellacopters
2. Beta Band
I could see both of them happening...
what reunion are you looking for? There aren't that many left for me.. seems like everyone is doing a reunion these days...

Spacemen 3
Husker Du

Hootie and the Blowfish

Nuckleback
Jonas Brothers

oh.. I'll second Beta Band... Wouldn't mind seeing another Pavement reunion as well... and Talking Heads.

Comets on Fire
-
At The Drive In and Rainer Maria doing reunions got me digging out my old CD's from that time period.
Jets To Brazil - probably wouldn't happen because people would just want a Jawbreaker reunion more, but an Orange Rhyming Dictionary tour would be the best.
Brandtson - The Fallen Star Collection tour would be great too.

Hootie and the Blowfish
Creed
Nuckleback
Jonas Brothers
Starship
The Jonas Brothers broke up!?

end of thread
no wait . . . with dinosaur jr, without lou and murph, opening.
now, the end.
-
Well Jesus Jones is reunited and currently teasing a new single on Facebook. I'd say the chances of them touring the states ever again are slim to none. Thanks to Obama it's got insanely expensive to just apply for visas to tour here..

Obama out. drops mic.

Speaking of lame Britpop bands, this guy used to be the lead singer of the Soup Dragons.

Thanks, buddy! That's actually pretty good!

Yup it's got those vintage JJ vocals, with a hint of devo in the guitar sound

I want to preface my list by saying that thankfully, I have been able to see most of the bands that I grew up listening to over the last 13 years. The main ones that I did not see yet, I cant see or wont see because of deaths (Nirvana, Pantera, Alice in Chains are some that pop in mind; and no I would not see any of those bands with a replacement member).
That being said, a few inactive bands that I would like to see would include:
Romeo Void, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Nitzer Ebb, Sepultura (no way I would see them without Max), Curve, Exhorder, Tripping Daisy, White Zombie, Tru
(^ only 80s/90s bands)
-
No love for the R.E.M.? Too soon?
-

Really? I think AIC is one of the few bands that have continue with a replacement that could actually pull it off. It's not like Axl Rose is fronting them or anything.
-
No Layne = no thanks
Maybe he/they were not important to you, but they were one of my favorite bands in my formative years. And to me, he is irreplaceable.
-
please, explain.
although my original comment is a sweeping generalization, and I can't condemn an entire community based on my meager experiences, those experiences are numerous enough that I am very guarded when interacting with individuals of the community.
And to be clear, when I say bear community I mean an individual who self-identifies as a bear, travels to and attends bear gatherings, has a collection of teddy bears, and wears bear themed clothing or tattoos. They might eat honey too.
I should also add I'm bitter, jaded, and not a bear

I get that... I'd like to see STP, but no way without Scott. Chester Copperpot? What were they thinking?

Oingo Boingo
Talking Heads
The Smiths
Orbital (they got back together briefly but didn't do much in the states if I recall)
-
green nuns of the revolution
prana
darshan

one I'd really like to see is another go at it for the Sex Pistols and the sooner the better but I don't know its in the cards.. when I talked to Glen Matlock a couple of years ago he was very very dismissive of it....still, the PIL play is pretty much over for Johnny boy and I'm guessing he'll want more money.. everybody does...
-
Done with reunion bands.
-
I have several I'd like to see. TAD, Fudge Tunnel, Mr. Bungle, Fugazi, The Apex Theory, Priestbird, City of Caterpillar, Frodus, Big Black, Husker Du was mentioned already...
Also Kyuss with Josh Homme but that will never happen now. We are stuck with Vista Chino. I would also be down for Them Crooked Vultures.
The Jesus Lizard reunion tour was so damn awesome I wish they would have stuck around!
70's occult glam band White Witch would be a treat.
I'm not sure if they are broken up or not but Harvey Milk has not toured or made any music since 2010 so I'd like to see them come back and make some noise.
How about Henry Rollins? Rollins band? Black Flag? I'd like to see him onstage again not telling stories or interviewing Dino Jr.
-
White Witch....interesting.... I keep passing on their records but that is one cool band name...

i just saw that the other day, i feel like that rumor always pops up and then nothing ever comes of it.
-
Jerry said, no way its happening.
-
How many people would say "NO WAY" if the Talking Heads toured without Jerry Harrison? I'd still go. That said, without Tina Weymouth's bass, I probably would skip it.
-
Midnight Oil just announced they are reuniting and doing shows next year in Australia and possibly overseas. Might be a little too early for the Hey Seth..

I would go as long as they didn't charge much more than a David Byrne solo show, which I seem to remember featuring a decent amount of TH material.

Oingo Boingo
This one made me laugh. I didn't think anyone outside of Southern CA would want this, and even then, they played so constantly down there, especially around Halloween, that I would never think to want to see them again.

They were before my time. I hear Danny has refused it because of hearing damage he got from performing.
I'd kill to see them do a Halloween gig.

Cocteau Twins

^ good one

Oingo Boingo
They are before my time as well. I am checking out a random album, Dead Man's Party, and will definitely check out more. I heard a few songs of theirs on the classic alternative channel on sirius XM but kept forgetting to check them out when I would get home.

Their two lone albums are both good and unique. Certainly some of the better stuff on Capricorn Records. Up there with Captain Beyond. Last time I checked, second hand copies were still cheap. I got a promo of their first one at the DC Record fair for $3 like 5 years ago. I think I got the the second in a thrift shop.

roxy music w/ or w/o eno.
last thing i read from phil said that it's really all over.
missed those reunion shows a few years back.
they played ravinia in chicago, that would have been lovely outdoors.
oh, and mott the hoople.
those reunion shows never made it to these shores.
they were 'my band' back in the day.
heard their "sweet jane" on my free sirius trial today.
did see hunter/ronson band at the stanley theatre in pgh (my 2nd ever show).
ian played the birchmere i think, not too long ago, damn.
we're getting old, crap.

Oh I thought you meant the White Stripes

Readers of Bob Mould?s autobiography, See a Little Light, could have been forgiven for thinking the former Hüsker Dü frontman had not so much burned his bridges with his old bandmates as dynamited them, then dug an even deeper channel in the river to ensure there was no chance of them ever being on the same side of the water ever again.
Now, it seems, he must have mellowed. The beloved and influential alt-rock band have just unveiled their first activity in decades, and though no reunion has been announced, bassist Greg Norton has coyly referred to the band hiring a manager ?to help us get a foothold back in the business?.
For now, all Hüsker Dü have unveiled is their first official web page. It is their only official activity since their 1994 live album The Living End, which came six years after their acrimonious split. So far, all the site offers is the chance to buy six T-shirts, but an official Facebook page is likely to follow.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune, the group?s hometown newspaper, reports that the group have been sorting out licensing issues with SST Records ? who released their classic albums Zen Arcade, New Day Rising and Flip Your Wig ? which has allowed their music to be used on television.
?There are more moving parts than we?d like to deal with, but we?ll see what happens,? Norton told the Star Tribune, when asked about future activity, including the reissuing of their back catalogue. That catalogue has been untouched for years owing to it being split between different labels.
?The main thing is, there?s ongoing communication between the three of us now,? Norton added.
Hüsker Dü became one of the most influential alternative bands in the US during the 1980s, moving from hardcore punk to a muscular rock style, with two acclaimed songwriters in Mould and drummer Grant Hart. They fell apart in 1987, after Hart succumbed to heroin addiction. Mould and Hart pursued musical careers ? Mould achieved an unlikely No 3 album in the UK with Beaster, by his group Sugar ? while Norton became a chef.

I still remember that wonderful, 930 club show. Jpj and that bass!
-
I want to see Acid Bath reunited. Probably won't happen, Dax Riggs does well on his own I think.
Yes please to more Them Crooked Vultures as well.
-
I grew up a few hours north of Acid Bath and found their music in 1995 or 1996. Sadly I never was able to see them before they ended (I was too young, didn't go to shows, and definitely did not go to out of town shows at that time). I did see Deadboy once, but it's not the same.
Good choice. I wish they would gather the remaining members, get a replacement, and tour a bit.

Supergrass

Fuck yeah
Do tell...
-
Whoa! I was literally just thinking about them they other day. They were definitely a favorite act when I first moved to the area, and likely my first show at the club that I drove myself to and would be willing to openly admit to seeing (first ever being some pop/punk showcase featuring the band Homegrown). I definitely feel like Supergrass was an underrated band with humor and style that belied their punky beginnings. It would be nice to hear some news.

Cocteau Twins
(not holding my breath for it to happen but...)

The Pantera reunion is a bad joke.
There is a funny chapter in Grohl’s autobiography about Pantera
-
still is crazy about how Dimebag Darrell was killed in the middle of a show (as were a few others)
this was something I hadn't heard
Nearby Columbus police officer James D. Niggemeyer quickly responded and shot Gale once in the face with a 12 gauge police-issue shotgun after a hostage managed to move out of the way. As shown in unedited footage of the incident, Gale's head was literally blown off by the shotgun blast. A voice could be heard shouting "Dude, his head is gone", immediately following the shotgun blast.

the tenses in that article are causing me angst.
The band will headline major festivals ... next year.
Guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante will join Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown this summer to tour as Pantera, headlining a number of major festivals
Wylde is scheduled to tour Europe this summer with Osbourne on his No More Tours 2 outing for approximately seven weeks between early May and mid-June.

Speaking of Love and Rockets, it’s surprising that ‘So Alive’ has only 17M listens on Spotify. It was era defining and hugely popular - right alongside the likes of Personal Jesus and Disintegration Cure. But it seems to be kind of forgotten
