Title: A rolling compendium of integers Commentary - 2016 Edition
Post by: Julian, Forum COGNOSCENTI on July 26, 2016, 10:43:15 am
Let's please respect that people are going to the rolling compendium of integers thread to see integers. People have limited time and should not have to wade through a lot of people's thoughts and comments trying to find some integers to enjoy. Let's use this thread instead to talk about our comments and how the integers make us feel. Thanks,

I appreciate the feedback, however, I would think you'd probably be happier reading another thread if that one does not interest you.

EDIT: It's, admittedly, not everyone's cup of tea.

Did I read in another thread that you described yourself as "upper-level management"?

That sounds about right.

Is it just me with a standard upper-management health care policy, but does anyone with the AHCA actually hate it and not get to pick their own doctor?

Part of what I do is select vendors for things such as health insurance. As such, I was aware that the VPOs in my company had a much better insurance plan than mid and lower-level employees. At my next performance review, I asked for that same policy in lieu of a cost of living increase. I am not upper-level management, however.

you ever go to a store or fast food place, and the cashier "accidently" rings up $200.00 instead of your actual $20 that you gave her, and she just gives you the correct change with her addition and subtraction skills . . . you just know that person is stealing from the business.

Much worse is the cashier that can't figure out to just move the decimal point and has to get out a calculator to figure out the correct change.

While I'm not openly questioning Walkie's motives, has anyone noticed that he often deletes his account immediately before concerts he publicly states he's attending (e. g. Pizza Underground, Dino Jr, Dino Jr again, etc). It's almost like he doesn't want to hang out with any of us.

I doubt that.  I was supposed to hang with him at a show earlier this summer that I ended up missing (and that he publically said he was attending).  Oh well.  I'm pretty sure I can find him if he ends up at Dinosaur Jr and say hi.

Unfortunately I do not have access to the proprietary information and can only rely on these stats. (http://forum.930.com/index.php?action=stats)

Its one of only 5 threads to hit 6,000 replies. The four months its existed either were, or are currently on pace to be, the four highest posting months in board history. Its an absolute cultural phenomenon by any measure.

The bot he uses to post the numbers gets credit for two views every time it posts - once to increment the integer, and once to hit post.

I really feel some sort of long form television series form would let us focus more on the people behind the integers than just the integers themselves. It could help us come to grips with what 7 makes us emote, for example.
