I am the school.  Or a student of it, rather.

Did anybody chance to watch AU/Lehigh on ESPN?  Heartbreaking.  So close, so close...Maybe next year we'll finally break through and win the PL.

Michigan St. over Nevada
and the over 130 on the Air Force game are probably the easiest shoe-ins for betting.
I would take Syracuse as well, by 2? no problem.

eh...excluding last year, the 'cuse are choke artists. would stay away from them with a ten ft pole. its that 2-3 zone, if you can shoot over it, they are done.

i don't know. . .that princeton-style offense is tough to score alot of points against.  i mean, look at the over/under for the princeton/texas game, 119. . i think that's a better representation of the point total for the carolina/air force game.
Title: Re: NCAA Tournament
Post by: es9450a on March 17, 2004, 02:08:00 pm
Syracuse with only a two-point spread is a frickin steal.  I'd lay my tuition money on the Orangemen, if I wasn't on scholarship.

the way i see it , Air Force doesnt score a lot of points, but WILL against a suspect UNC defense.

The Air Force defense let up many points, because they dont play UNC everyday.

I'll figure about 74-60 UNC, and enough to cover 130

I only made it into one pool this year -- I took Pitt beating Stanford.  (Stranger things have happened.)

I remember going to West Point when I was 12 or something and seeing the Dan Marino-led Pitt team trounce Army in football.

That was probably the last time I paid any attention to any kind of college sports.

i went with the work poll, lots of trash talking in the office. i have manhattan in that game...partially because i was in the big apple last weekend.

caved and went with pitt over stanford too (weird). figure that pitt has a chip on its shoulder after getting the worst draw in the tourney. plus, i can actually root for them.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.  But we'll be back in full force next year-- just you wait!

(truth be told, i really like basketball mostly for the opportunity to drink pitchers of high life lite and eat nachos.  the game's fine, but the sports bar comestables-- that's what makes me want my team to go all the way.)

I don't like UVAs style of basketball so delighted to see them lose, but I feel bad that the kid who was pinned in the corner with time outs and decided tp just THROW THE BALL UP IN THE AIR WILDLY is going to have to see that clip played every year until the end of time.

EDIT: Oh God, he was also the player who missed the free throw on the other end right before.

THEY HAD TIME OUTS REMAINING! He could have just called one!

It was like he thought there was 3 seconds left and the clock would run out before the ball fell back down to Earth and that very much was not the case. It was wild.

Jump to about 1:25 and it starts getting good. 2:08 is where the clip you will see every year until the end of time starts.

Thanks for the time marker… as I wanted to keep my March madness watching in 2023 under 1 minute total

Purdue always chokes….every darn tournament

Their coach really underwhelmed me. He seemed to have absolutely no answers.

It truly cannot be stated how bad FDU is and how dogshit they played and still won. That’s the most ignominious loss in basketball history. UVA/UMBC and UVA/Chaminade are staring up at that game on the shit podium.

Yeah…there was a point between about 7 minutes and 2 minutes left that both teams were missing everything….then a guy from FD made a shot and the rest was history

Not great basketball
