A little press release...
________________________________________________________________
If you saw The Devil Wears Prada, you might remember the soundtrack's two retro-loungey tunes by Mocean Worker (http://www.myspace.com/mowomoceanworker) and Bitter:Sweet (http://www.myspace.com/thematinggame). Though touring separately, the two projects appear jointly on Friday, August 24 at the 9:30 Club (http://www.930.com), where their catchy songs should make you start shimmying.
Mocean Worker's jazzy numbers evoke Sergio Mendes with an Ursula 1000 playfulness, while Bitter:Sweet combines samples and scratches, Cardigans-esque vocals, and a strong pop sensibility. The opening act is D.C.'s own DJ Christine Moritz (http://www.varietyisthespice.com/), an Eighteenth Street Lounge alumna who's no stranger to catchy jazz-flavored tunes, and who has previously appeared at the 9:30 Club opening for Massive Attack and Brazilian Girls.
