Ill assume you saw (are seeing) Rooney tonight. Saw them last night at the hole-in-the-wall known as maxwells. my only major disappointment was that it was an insanely early show. starting at 7:30 is near unheard of. and rooney complained about the earliness of it, as well as the fact that about 9:40 they were being told to end the set. MAJOR bummer!
but they put on a kick-ass show. their new stuff is as catchy as their older stuff. pure pop bliss is how id describe it
lots of hand clapping and dancing and very excited fans. love, love, love their stuff and cant wait till july 17th? for the new album to come out. i was surprised i recognized a few of their new songs. didnt even realize i had heard them. and still maanged to know most the words to their other stuff (which i rarely listen to these days). still as catchy as ever
hope tonights show is as good. if i can come up with a setlist from my head in the next day or so, ill let you know what was played here. i recall part of a request that was played which was too funny, but forgot the name of the song at the moment.
and the rewinds were pretty good. although after a while all their stuff started to sound the same. my friend was talking to the drummer and got some pics with him and said he was pretty friendly. always cool
didnt have the 2nd opener as you had, so have no clue how they were. now im just hoping rooney comes back and will play the mercury or anywhere that has later/longer hours. its weird to see really young people at the show (no offense) but im so used to the 21+ shows in nyc that seeing kids around 12 nearly freaks me out.
then again rooney made a comment about 30 year olds and i felt OLD!
something about losing our hearing and by 30 most of us would be deaf. damn i hope im not on the old side of their fans!
