When I look like that, I just look wasted, minus the elegant.

Ditto.  That was pretty humorous, Markie.  Thanks.

I hate to admit this, but Smackette keeps listening to their new album and it's starting to grow on me.

I might overcome the embarassment and actually buy it.

I wonder if I will blush less than when I bought this?

You can always ask about return policies and pretend that it's a gift for your kid nephew.

I never listen to the 1st one. Why would I want the 2nd one of over-simplified remixes of the song that was done over and over again on the 1st one?

Why do you hate to admit it? You admitted to U2 being your favorite band and liking No Doubt. Why would you NOT like the Strokes? They seem right up your alley.

It figures that you of all people wouldn't understand.  First off, this isn't about the strokes, it's about their new album.  I like the strokes and I'm not afriad to admit it, like I like a lot of other types of music that others on this board find repulsive.  I just don't cram it down their throats or over glorify it.  I find Britney fun and laughable, but she's no "greatest musician ever" nor is she trying to be.  I take it for what it's worth and enjoy it.

As for the Strokes, I've just been a bit bored with them lately.  Their first album was catchy at first, but 11 songs in 36 minutes can only carry you for song long for 3 years.

I said that I hate to admit it because:

 (1) I bitched about having to go see them with Smackette a couple of weeks ago.
 (2) I said then the I really didn't care for the new stuff when I heard it live.
 (3) Then I listened to the streaming version of the new album and again stated on the board that it didn't do much for me.
 (4) Now, after 3 weeks of bashing the album, I now hate to admit to all of these people who have already heard me say that I wasn't impressed with the new album that now I actually starting to like it a little bit.

After being so public about something, it's hard to say "You know what? Maybe I wasn't giving it enough time."  I hate admitting that I might have been wrong - but I did it, now didn't I?  You should try it.

Anything else I can clear up for you?

Hey, what can I say, I'm not a mindreader. And typically, I would skip over any threads aboutthe Strokes anyway. So I'm not really up on what you or anybody thinks of the new Strokes.

I just thought admitting to liking it was something that one of the board music snobs would feel bad about...and you're clearly not one the the board music snobs.

So yeah, clear up for me just what the hell is wrong with Tony Stewart. And what is wrong with the points standings such that Newman is not leading.

It took Tony a little while to get going in the Chevy this year, but his last four races have been vintage Tony.  Plus he was working hard onhis new "Smoke" DVD.

As for Newman, 3 letters:  DNF.  He has way too many.  Feast or famine with that guy.  The points race is all about consistency.

Going back and allowing yourself to re-evaluate something is right on, smackie.  More people should be willing to do so, and admit it when the 're-evaluation' comes out differently!

Good deal.  I've done that myself, though I'm not remembering a good example just now....
